I have a 98 Ram with the 3.9 magnum, I put a thrush welded muffler and a turndown on it and it sounded very similar. I like that it actually does sound like a diesel in the cab when driving.
mine used to sound like this i had the exact same setup on my 96 dakota with the 3.9 but now i got it y piped after the cat its quieter now but im thinkin about doin true duals with high flow cats and straights after that
and it does give you less miles per gallon because when my exhaust system wasn't rusted right out like it is now, because i use to get somewhere between 20-23 miles per gallon in the summer and about 14 to 16 in the winter
take off the converter too and it's even louder, i just wonder, if the V6 Dakota sounds loud without the Converter and Muffler i wonder what the 360 and 318 sounds like
@J090909B4329s I know this is a year old but the 3.9l v6 mag in its prime will do about 13.3mpg average with up to 20mpg highway and about 10 in stop and go city. with a 15gal tank, we are talking about 250, 200 a tank depending on load and at 3.15 a gallon for reg, a 45 dollar fill up. pretty shitty I agree
@J090909B4329s I have a 98 ram 2 door 8 foot bed with the 3.9 magnum and its getting 18-19 mpg. It also has a 35 gallon tank so with a full tank it should go 647.5 miles.
