Firehawk, yes, was at Geauga Lake, under the name X-Flight, and is now at Kings Island. The Crypt has always been at Kings Island.  It was called Tomb Raider under the Paramount ownership.

The ride side closed. Now it's only a water park (Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom). The park, was having very low attendance. It is owned by Cedar Fair, which owns Cedar Point and Kings Island. Geauga Lake just couldn't get an attendance even close to the two parks. It was only getting roughly 3,000 people a day compared to Cedar Point which gets over 21,000 people a day. I live 10 minutes from the park's remains. It's in the middle of a suburb area.

I'm glad I have lived near it since 1999 and have had the chance to go to a great park for over 7 years that was unfortunately destroyed by Cedar Fair. They make soooooooo much profit from their other parks and choose to close the ride side instead of making in their terms a little less money. I've seen people cry because they have many great memories of the park which has been around since the late 1800's.

Six Flags destroyed it. Cedar Fair tried to bring it back to what it was before Six Flags/ Premier took over. You are correct about the lack of attendance. Do you think those rides are cheap to run? Cedar Fair made NO profit from Geauga Lake's ride side. If they wanted to close it from the beginning, they would have. The infrastructure wasn't there for it to thrive as a large park. Six Flags' investments only were rides. None in the food or restroom department.

I am well aware of the amount of money it costs to run those rides. Their budget attendance at the time was about 6,000 or so people, while the park couldn't pull in anything near that. The highest attendance at the waterpark this year was about 6,000 people, put it doesn't matter when the average attendance is about 1,000 people. Several days had a double digit attendance and two days had only three people (those days resulted in a noon closing).

My brother and I worked their and we got to ride it a final time before it was moved to kings Island. I was the last person to ride it under the X-flight name.

There was a party at the end of the season where employees got to ride the rides. When this happened the park was closed.

I just went to Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom the other day and they have it that you get a bag at the gift shop and fill it with as much of the old Geauga Lake Amusement park items as you want for only $15. I have Geauga Lake hats, shirts, ride magnets and a lot more. I'm glad that they let us buy these items that are now collectors items.

I'm not a competitor but i had lots of struff from that park shirts, magnets pictures of me on the rides and even some maps.

I even got some maps and stuff from when it was Six Flags that stuff is even more worth than the GL stuff but its the same park.

Of course my father took a video or film camera to get video of me at the park that i can watch all the time giving me memories on how fun that park was.

Its stupid for Cedar Fair to close such a great park probably to help Cedar point

man, ohio has some pretty dang good parks. Kings island seems fun, but i go to kings dominion and there practicly the same. And this park and cedar point seem alot the same in the ride sorts. O!, and that yellow floorless ride is going to be built at kings dominion called the dominiator. SWEET HUH? Well kings dominion dosnt have to many great rides so that will bbe a great start! WOOT WOOT!

Yeah, the Dominator you're getting is the same one from Geauga Lake. That was my favorite coaster at that park. I can't wait to get down to KD and ride it again.
