  • What movie ending is this before this sign off video starts?

  • Do you have a CBC sing-off old enough to include "God Save the Queen"?

  • @Alcofoamer no. this clip plays 'O Canada" and then color bars and tone. srry. i don't have it. why don't you ask retrontario?

  • @geekgirltv2011 That's who I was asking.

  • KOMO in seattle used the same canadian anthem as in this one too.

  • Awesome job!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL at the 45 seconds of test pattern+ piercing "change the channel!" tone

  • guys, it's not so much the FCC sucking as it is Dish Network and the CBC having to pay for the US broadcast rights of any of the CBC's shows.. that would become prohibitively expensive for both the CBC and Dish Network. For much of its history, Trio (now sleuth) *did* clear most of the CBC schedule, though... and many border cable systems (Toledo, Detroit, Buffalo, Seattle) carry CBC affiliates from nearby cities.

  • 0:11 to 0:17... That is the clearest sounding and clearest looking ident I have ever seen or heard!!! How do you do it!?!?

  • ...and how clear the children sang! So tintinnabulous, beautiful!

  • @excelsior27 I recall seeing this in the mid or late 80s... the kids singing "O Canada."

  • @StukInBuf Toronto Children's Choir?

  • I grew up in Windsor and CBET used this version.

  • yet another great memory from yesteryear.god Im old.lol

  • Yes, truly so... Back in time... To an interesting time... A time where broadcast television and childhoods were in ways much more innocent and much more cherishable than they are nowadays!!!

  • Wonder what film chain camera CBLT would've used back then - GE PE-24/240/245's or RCA TK-27/28's?

  • By any chance would the sign-off from Channel 9 in Windsor as CBET or its predecessor CKLW?

  • Strange, if I didn't know any better I would think the anouncer sounds a lot like Catherine O'Hara.

  • You're right, it does sound like her!

  • that was cbet windsor 9. i live in detroit, grew up in tecumseh and the burbs of detroit.

i remember this boy, the lead singer, what is

his name ? is he still singing ? anyway, its

my home and native land, even though i live on this side of the detroit river now.

    peace guys, dan

  • I love CBET, especially for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Red Green and others -- plus, Hockey Night in Canada... Too bad I can't get it on Dish Network!!! As much as I don't like to say it, FCC laws can really suck sometimes!!!

  • Is there a French version?

  • I thought all the CBC O&O stations would've had the same O Canada clip by that stage?
