He's 200 years late, but he does come back as Biometal Z. As I said, the game clearly hints at this. And not just a little bit, but STRONGLY. There's very little room for speculation.

Zero is the ultimate creation of Wily, Wily build Bass using a special material (Bassnium or something like that) and accidently found a way to build a extremly strong robot, that is why Zero used to be a maverick. Sigma, who used to be a Hunter, had a fight with Zero and destroyed his chip (The blue thing on his head) And brought Zero to the Hunters Base, Zero became a hunter under the watch of Sigma, and became friends with X.
I wish I had no memory of beating 1 - 4.. that way I can play em again and have that epic feeling :( its just not the same after beating the game over a dozen times D:

no, the theme is called departure for a reason, at the end of 1 zero was faced with nearly infinite opponents in the desert and was still fighting them in a battle attrition, this whole song is him leaving.

no, the theme is called departure for a reason, at the end of 1 zero was faced with nearly infinite opponents in the desert and was still fighting them in a battle attrition, this whole song is him leaving.
