Not really. Piranhas are smart enough to tell what size of the victim is good enough for them. If it's much bigger than them, like humans for example, they wouldn't bother eating something so big.

It's like eating 25 meals per day. You can't manage the whole thing in one serving.

I have a small shoal of red bellied piranha, 5 to be exact, they are very skittish fish and like to hide. but they are very territorial, even towards each other. I feed them on a very irregular basis as this is how they would feed in the wild and believe me when they are hungry they will attack anything in or ontop of the water.
