4.6's are high torque, low RPM motors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive that he would get more acceleration shifting at about 5,000 RPM and not redline in order to keep the car in it's peak torque curve. That's at least what I've noticed in my GT.

The S197 is revolutionary in its own way, it is no longer a muscle car.
Harder to work on. Lots more computer controlled features and limiters.
My personal opinion is people are disapointed with the performance of S197 GT's in comparrison, so they feel the need to watch some SN95's and exagerate how badly they beat them.

Uh the 96-98 GT had 215 HP, The 99 4.6 got the PI heads then 260. The 87-92 5.0 is an awesome motor with forged pistons stock good for spray or boost. 93 had cast.

those stang gts 94 through 98 were like 215 hp or something not muscle car material same goes for the 99-04 gts unmodded were 265 hp the 05 gt and up finally has it right 300 hp pure american muscle my 06 stang gt was modded to 325hp before i bought it at a dealership i'm gonna mod it up higher to 350hp
How do you figure that the 99-04 gts were not muscle car material? They ran faster than many of the old school big blocks. They could take the quarter in about 14.0 seconds stock, and took to mods nice. Plus, they are a few hundred pounds lighter than the 05-up, so making power on them made it to the ground easier.
2005 GT is 3518 lbs, and the 1999 gt is 3273, making the 05 275 lbs heavier than the 99-04. I'm not putting down the 05, but they are kinda heavy, especially the GT500, which is near 4000 lbs.
1994-1995's(with the 5.0L) are alot fater than the1996-1998 because they had better heads...it you get better heads on the 1996-1998(like the ones on the 1999-2004) they fly.
What I dont get is why did ford reduced 5.0 liters to 4.6 in 96-08 stang GTs thats odd could have at least went up in liters for the 99 to 08 stang gts especially the 05-08 gts which weigh more and has 300hp could have at least been 5.1

But how about fuel delivery effciency, timing efficiency, duration effciency, and tunability concerning a reliable 500hp+ ride. All these have been perfected on the FI OHC block. Ask to see a 650hp 4V stang and i'll show you a street legal daily driver. While an OHC 650hp beast is often a trailer queen.

I've got a 96' modded to hell it's good for the money i have now til i get ws6 or something but lol yaah stock they aren't really to great
