  • playing this piece with the renfrewshire school senior band!!!!!!!!!! so technical but it works amazingly :))

  • We played this in my town band (Guilford Town Band) :D

  • the timpani in this peice are awesome i love playing it :D plus no 7/8 or 10/8 bars to play ;)

  • as a horn player i'd have to say the best part is the intro lol. def one of my fave pieces to play. and beautifully composed.

  • I have drum major auditions on this tomorrow! Such a great piece :)

  • The two coolest souding parts are at 3:35 and 4:07... Check it out!

  • my favorite part is 2:03, seeing as my band is playing this, and I'm first chair alto, so I have the solo :3

  • Man I love 0:00-0:08 being a horn player and all...

  • @L2PKCORP Interesting. I wonder if we're playing the same songs? Probably not. We're playing this along with The big cage march, and A pacific trilogy. Great pieces. I wish your band luck at UIL.

  • man I love 2:26

  • Playing this for UIL. Amazing piece. Unfortunately, our director hasn't gotten us up to tempo yet. Can't wait till we're there.

  • @BandGeek288

  • @L2PKCORP Friendswood High School

  • @BandGeek288

  • @L2PKCORP Same for second band at Round Rock. good luck. We're also playing Xerxes

  • this is an amazing piece, I love it!! :D

  • Everyone in our band has agreed that 2:48 sounds like a badass dungeon and/or boss battle.

  • Favorite piece I EVER PLAYED!! The time signature changes n crazy rhythms made it challenging. love all the overlapping melodies but overlapping vibe, xylo & bells' at 1:20 were soo hard! I personly found the chime part at 4:06 challenging! It's so hard to read music, watch the director and play chimes simultaneously! I triedd because all the notes just seem so random! Lol BUT I STILl LOVED PLAYING THIS!!! And I finally go those hard parts down! :)

  • @hernandeza88 I just memorized that chime part. It's not that long, and then it's one less thing to have to watch. (Was it only the print version I had, or is there a missing measure in that percussion part at the end right before the last Chime part?) O.o

  • @kimlongvo You are absolutely right! There is a measure missing before the last chime part! It kept on messing me up at first and my band director kept on getting frustrated at me for playing before my part. Now, I finally have it, though!

  • @hernandeza88 Dude, chimes are the worst to read and watch the conductor on. I am always shifting them around trying in vain to find a position to see the conductor from.

  • My high school's wind ensemble played this the school year before I was able to join it. I was quite jealous, as this piece is so lovely. Ever since, I've wanted to perform it...

This particular recording is amazing. Whenever I hear the sections of the piece I am reminded of a stroll in a park on a nice, warm sunny day, and then later the clouds come in and it rains heavily (with the constant 16th notes on the xylophone), and then the sun breaks through the clouds again. :3

  • This piece of music is absolutly wonderful. I hated band before we started playing this pice of music. The clarinet part rocks!

  • bass clarinet sounds a bit rough in my opinion in this

  • I love this song! Im playing the first clarinet part.

  • Definately the best recording of this I've heard. Absolutely love it. Although it's kinda hard to hear the woodwinds.

  • My favorite part is at 3:30.

I love how the horns give a sense of overwhelming the band with an amazing emotion.

  • Love this song, especially the way you guys played it, I play second horn on this one as a freshman in our bastrop W.E. And the begining is my favorite part!

  • we're playing this! :D

  • what a great piece!

  • I played this in the State's Youth Wind Ensemble....it was incredible!

  • My favorite part is 2:48

  • that is definitly a great spot! especially when your first chair tuba! its awesome, cuz everyone gets to hear that sweet bass!

  • omg!! that part is my favorite part 2!!!!

  • Amazing performance. It could use more dynamic contrast, but this is beautiful. Honestly. No notes cracked, great tuning and balance, etc.
