@Quatermain98526 considering its 13 years old using an old v8 even for its time at 260hp, it can still dust 300+ hp v6 cars due to its weight advantage and excellent torque numbers and curviture

@Storm7289 The new Camaro V6 with 304HP and new Mustang V6 with 305HP both do 0-60 in under 6 seconds.

Even my car, a 2001 Camaro Z28 is barely holding on against these new V6's.

@Quatermain98526 the new camaro v6 does not do it under 6. these gt's stomp the new camaro v6's bone stock. i cant say the same for the new mustang v6 though but its a close race. these are in fact under 10k cars that have great potential

@Storm7289 Pretty sure if you look up the V6 Camaro it does it in 5.9 seconds.

Anyways, the GT does have potential, but only if you turbocharge it or supercharge it. 260HP is getting kinda weak by today's standards. The Cobra's have a lot more potential, since they start out with 305 to 320. Or 390 in the 2003-2004 models.

@Quatermain98526 look it up? LOL. a 4.62v will do it in mid 5's and 0-60 doesnt mean shit. theres tons of vids of 2v's spanking v6 camaros. you can build any car so arguing over stock ones is pretty pointless

@Quatermain98526 like for example an 04 cobra is godly for modding since it comes factory s/c and a 100$ pulley can net you 80-100hp just like that

@Storm7289 Yes, like I said the Cobras are well worth modding. A full bolt on 2V GT can't break out of the 13's. So they are pretty worthless.

I know i wanted to spay it when i got the new engine, but havent yet. I should have kept the kit from my SS.

i have seen between 13.5 and 13.7 mostly 13.7's and a 0-60 in 5.2, thats the best running GT ever made,

it took them 12 years to run what 1998 z28runs

it matters alot, your engine breaths just like me and you, at higher altitude its not getting as much air, thin air dont expand like thick, low altitude air

autos have faster shifts and are more consistant, and are just better for drag racing, sticks are for teenagers trying to blow the tires off. 90% of all cars built for drag racing are autos, my 2000 SS camaro was auto and my 72 SS Nova was a 4 speed from the factory but my dad and grandpa put a th350 auto in it within the first year of buying it new in 72

they launch better if you have ties because you can rev to a highe RPM, but with a stahl converter in the auto it makes up the diff, like i said the auto shifts faster so you dont lose so much momentum between shifts

and i neve had a 5 speed with the same mods outrun me, the car runs very good for what it is

there is a formula to calculate your cars 1/4 mile time from sea leval to whatever altitude you live at, you can find it on the net

Do you have hi-flos or straight pipes? And is yours true dual? So you'd have 4 cats and took off all 4?

i would say 8-14 on a car with 1 or 2 cats but on a gt i would say more than that. yes true duels and flowmaster 40's. I think its like $2500 bucks here in missouri if you get caught but with all the trucks around this place with strait pipes the cops dont care

The paper work that came with the new motor said not to be to hard on it for the first 1000 miles. Its only got 500 or so on it. I will have a topend run soon. I just wanted to show a good 0-60 it did it in about 5 flat not to damn bad for a prety much stock GT. Its not a fast car but fast for a mustang
