All the people on here pleading for the life of the rabbits make me laugh. Have you ever *owned* a rabbit? Many of them claw and bite, and most of the ones who don't are pretty disinterested in human interaction. They are overgrown rats that happen to taste like chicken. As long as they are raised in good conditions and killed in humane conditions, nobody should have a beef with it if they eat meat.
I intend to start raising my own for food next year, and I will get a rabbit wringer to do it.

Just wanted to thank you for the vid. I'm thinking of hunting some snow hares next season and was looking for instructionals on dispatching prey as quickly and painlessly as possible. This is by far the best (most humane) vid I've seen of dispatching rabbits, super quick and fast.

i keep the rabbit population down for some local farmers and in the unusual event of it not being dead when i retrieve it two fingers behind the ears and a pull on the back legs does the same job, TheRabbitWringer has a good set up here and its clean and quick if i was a bunnie on death row this is how id want to go compared to being gassed, or trapped or ripped to bits by a fox , myxomatosis or hung up by my feet and my throat slit like a Chinese fur farm! but this is just my opinion.

I know how shocking it can be for some who have been sheltered from the realities of life to then see this but please trust me, as far as slaughtering goes, it's pretty humane. It's not pretty, but I also understand my food doesn't magically appear in my supermarket either. I had to help slaughter and process animals when visiting family on their farm as a teen. I learned to respect the animals since their lives will service ours. I just wish my uncle had this at the time than the old method.

Feelings huh? Hate to say this to you but animals act on instinct and don't have nowhere near as complex a brain as humans or even higher primates. They have no idea they are going to die, and in the wild they show none of those "feelings" or "family" you think they have.
Some animals even eat their own offspring when they are starved. How's that for family?

we're omnivores, we ear meat, among other things. many animals eat meat, we just have he common courtesy to find the most painless way to kill our prey. sure the rabbit is afraid there but the method us far less painful than being eaten alive. A bullet is too dangerous because of the risk of ricochet and you might not kill the thing in one shit.

That is BEAUTIFUL! I have been breaking the necks of meat rabbits by hand and it's a pain (Their heads can turn around up to 2 full times before the neck breaks) This device makes it quick clean and painless i love it, Thumbs up :)

Just wanted to thank you for the vid. I'm thinking of hunting some snow hares next season and was looking for instructionals on dispatching prey as quickly and painlessly as possible. This is by far the best (most humane) vid I've seen of dispatching rabbits, super quick and fast.

We're omnivoires. Our bodies want meat, AND plants, its how we evolved. We have every much an 'excuse' (which is a piss poor word to describe a creatures natural instincts), as carnivorious animals do for killing, and eating other creatures. @duuuude87 They bleed out fine if you cut the head off quickly. After using the wringer you can hang them and cut the head off with good scissors. All you're cutting through is skin at this point.

It's funny how when goverments around the world introduced myxametosis nobody said a word. In the UK rabbits are virmin, landowners have a legal duty to kill them. I usually shoot them. As a hunter and conservationist I still find myxa more upsetting than this.

i keep the rabbit population down for some local farmers and in the unusual event of it not being dead when i retrieve it two fingers behind the ears and a pull on the back legs does the same job, TheRabbitWringer has a good set up here and its clean and quick if i was a bunnie on death row this is how id want to go compared to being gassed, or trapped or ripped to bits by a fox , myxomatosis or hung up by my feet and my throat slit like a Chinese fur farm! but this is just my opinion.

I think that the people who are offended and disgusted by this are pretty ignorant. This is the IDEAL; most farmed animals which die these days die after prolonged suffering BECAUSE they were not killed humanely by the farmer. At the same time, I don't agree with all the shit that vegans are getting here. I'm not vegan and I know it's not natural to not eat meat, but that's not (shouldn't be) the point of veganism.
