I know they don't have so many things in common and i have "studied" diamanda for quite some time now and I know there is nobody like her in western music, she's a true diva, the dark goddess from the ancient world.the thing she does with her voice & music is the genuine Art of Magick.she doesn't fit into any category.I didn't make a comparation between her and pj harvey's music, it was just this song reminded me of pj's song "rid of me". very similar energy and "message".

pj & diamanda are two of my favourate artists. I can see the similarity, its obvious PJ has drawn at least SOME influence from diamanda, especially during the TBYML era. if you've heard "manic" you'll know what I mean.

You're ignorant, you don't have taste. Music is not only beautiful and clean voices. Ever heard her version of 'Gloomy Sunday'. It's magnificent. Her voice (most of the time) sounds like nails on a chalkboard and her music is beaitiful, intense. Ever heard her recite Pasolini or Poe. I saw that tour too, saw em at The Wiltern in L.A. & they also did a hyped up /fast version of 'Communication'..

It was one of the heaviest things I've EVER seen or heard. Especially, the intro with the backwards tape effects leading into 'Skotoseme'... it's a shame those shows weren't videotaped.
