I think shows like american idol and such are more interested in the "reality show" intrigue of a person rather then musical talent. Perhaps if you emphasized your hospitalization or something they would have more interest.

I can only guess, but maybe the winner has already been predetermined, and after hearing you, the judge saw you as a threat to their hand picked champion. That pencil neck geek judge can't be serious. Had to be rigged. No other explanation.
