This is a sad song dedicated to his son that he could not care for... Since it was with a general's wife that he fell in love with. This song tells how sad he was to lose his son.
wow, you're so smart, i wish i could be half as smart as you. then i could have figured out the answer to my question myself without bothering someone as obviously intelligent as you.
Someone wrote, "Had Mozart seen Saint-Georges play the brilliant Concerto No. 10 while he was in Paris in 1778, he would have heard many things in it to admire." At this time the young genius, Mozart, would be about 22 yrs old and Boulogne between 33-39 yrs old.
@firebreathone2 Mozart was actually in Paris when Boulogne was popular, and was so influenced by his music style, that he went on to write a concerto for violin and viola which had a verse where it was almost exactly as Boulogne had written it, just a half tone lower.

merci, vos réponses m'ont été d'un grand secours....

Well, by that time, the young Mozart had already written his five vilolin concerti.

There is something rather Mozartian about this. Rather elegant.

Mozart, although his primary influence was Italian music, spent alot of time in Paris and the French classical style certainly left it's mark on him.

@firebreathone2 Harmonico101 is right... Mozart actually stole a lot of sections from french composers and definitely from Boulogne.
