Of ALL His Songs,THIS is my Favorite,I Guess because like alot of people,I've been There. This Takes me back to Happier, and sadder Days. Sinatra's music will go on as long as people with feelings are around to listen. Thanks.
there is no doubt in my mind that the seven people that dislike this incredible and romantic interpretation from O'l Blue eyes are Justin Bieber fans...Don't worry in a few short years that Rat Bieber will fade into obscurity like the Bum that he is, while Frank Sinatra's music will echo throughout eternity...
The Voice and Entertainer of the Universe!! No one will ever be able to capture this man's charm stage presence an elegance. Mr. Francis Albert Sinatra is an original, before Sinatra there was nothing! After Frank maybe Tom Jones T Bennett or Julio Iglesias, but Frank is the one and only Original...
I love this song, because my parents loved this song. They really wanted it all, no matter what they never wanted to be apart, they were in separable. Once they found each other, they didn't waste time, time was valuable. Sure work & commitments would keep them apart, but once they were home, they were together. My Mom went first, the reason my Dad liked this song. Even though he loved her, parting is never easy. I believe in true love because of them, I know it exists. I love them both!
This song reminds me of the pain of divorce. The couple starts out young, promising, without limits and committed to "winning the prize". All their dreams come true, career, success, etc., but what it cost them was each other. They didn't fail because they didn't love each other, ("We're not like the rest... We once were the best") but they allowed their individual ambitions to substitute for each other and common goals. Very sad, but very true in today's world.
@detroitfrank2 Very true is correct. Thing is you take any one of Frank's songs and find some way to fit it into your life, and it would fit, no doubt. Yeah you'd feel the hurt, happiness, emptiness, or whatever. Gotta love the Man and his music!
This is the story of all lives as we grow wiser[hopefully]. This song is for the honest. We all confess this story to ourselves at some time in our lives if we live long enough and are honest enough.
When he sings LOOOOOK at 1:29 he's singing LOOK as in F'ing LOOOK!!! mother f'ers. As if he's on a mountain top looking. And when he sings something DEEEP inside at 2:54 he means efing DEEEP man not like a pussy would sing deep. He sings it like a man.
That's not written on the page for him to sing it that way. It's masterful artistry that can't be taught. It must be within.
This explains quite well why my wife is leaving me. This is exactly how she thinks. All about her, not about something bigger than two individuals which is a marriage where two people give instead of taking.

@scottnownow I´m sorry for you... I was like you many many years ago. I know it hurts and it´s sad, but that, some day, will pass... (sorry if it´s not well written! I speak spanish and don´t write english very often!). Try to listen another kind of music!!! Or mix them!! Come on!!!! Bye bye!
Nelson Riddle didn't arrange this. It was Don Costa. Sinatra and Riddle were not speaking because Sinatra had failed to show up at a banquet honoring Riddle which had been rescheduled to fit Sinatra's schedule.
OMG. Nelson Riddle's orchestra and Sinatra, the perfect musical marriage. Thank God we had quality once in our lives...and Sinatra was the cream of the crop. God bless him!

I love around 2:56. the grat way he holds the note, the breathing technique learned from Tommy Dorsey in the old days. Sinatra is a master at this!
