It went through many rewrites before it got to the one we know and that's because they wanted to honor Jonathan Larson's work. There's nothing wrong with this version. They lyrics aren't wrong. It's an earlier version of the song, probably one they used for workshops or for the run in San Francisco, pre-Broadway. Many shows (probably most - possibly ALL), before they get on Broadway, go through many lyric/song changes. That's why shows don't go straight from conception to Broadway. They work out the kinks first. Also, unless the video poster can do a fierce impression of LBB and has her own backup singers, it's not her singing.
