Im in Southern NH and looking for a good start of a rat rod, you say hes got some 30's and 40's bodies in the woods...I might have to contact this fellow. Nice to see such a collection still alive, they just need loving homes.
@bbyeater Well, the way I look at it, he's smart enough to recognize they're worth savin' and save 'em. You can't garage keep everything. I admire him just for acquiring them and keeping them and trying to find a good home for him. If not for folks like this they'd all be crushed and turned into little kia's by now..
@bbyeater hes keeping them alive man!!!! as rpeek said you cant garage them all but at least they are not waiting for the crusher! Keep em alive, I'd rather have me rotting away then scrapped.
With some of those cars that might be true, a Western car IS going to be a lot less rust work BUT the fact is a handful of those cars are SO rare it is astonishing... so rare (like a 68 SS427 Bel Air that he has), that there may be only one or two example left in existence, or like the Zephyr... so sought after and rare that someone was selling a convertible with a wrecked front end and two sedans as parts cars in the same shape as Larry's for "only $40K" Larry has TWO convertibles I believe.
That guy thinks everything is rare. Those car are just rusting away and won't be worth anything in ten years. Just memories from the past. I don't think you can buy much from that guy.. dreamer
@zzzdogutube The simple fact is if you did a little researching or knew a little more about what Larry has, you'd know that many of those cars are exceedingly rare. And while Larry may be a dreamer, rpeek is certainly right about one thing Larry was the one in the past to recognize the future value of these cars. Now that they ARE valuable everyone thinks it's a shame to see them rot away, but Larry ponied up the money to at least save them when no one else thought to.
@MrComaToes -- I'm glad he saved them too. I made a statement that may not be true about Larry. But it seems every old junkyard you go to has an old guy who thinks everything is rare and way more valuable than it is. In the meantime the cars sit in a field and rust away, but they won't sell them for a reasonablabe price. This may not be Larry ..Sorry!! I hope someone can restore some of these Cars.
That fiberglass front end car could be a factory drag car. Look to see if it has the swiss cheeze frame with the BIG holes drilled in the frame, if so it's a ultra rare car.
