I just think comparison of bad-but-clueless Bush to the Evil Incarnate of Hitler is looney-tooney. There's no winner to an agrument such as this. At least we agree that the Bushes have always been bad news.

Great song & great video. I was talking to Iris DeMent backstage at the Leid Center At the University of Kansas. I told her how much I love this song and made the comment "I wish I wrote it".
Iris told me about how much sh*t she has recieved for this song and said "I wish you wrote it too!".
Anyway, I love Iris DeMent and her music!

Incidentally, written perhaps 12 years ago...well into the Clinton presidency. Plus ca change the world over, but great song, great anthem, criminally underestimated artist. And not really known this side of the pond either. Timeless. Thanks for the video.

Great song and great video. IMO questioning the rights and wrongs of America makes you a patriot. Some on here are trying to denounce the song and video - perhaps because it is them that the song and video denounce.

Great song, but I think your doctored (faked) photos, far from emphasizing the reality of what Dement has to say, trivializes the issues by trying to be cute. You end up looking silly and making everyone who shares the opinion of Ms. Dement look like an idiot.

Portraying Bush as Hitler appears anti-American to me, sorry. War is a part of every country's exsitence. If you don't protect it you will lose it. I've watched almost all of every debate on both sides and in the middle. Ron Paul seems a bit utopia minded for me. If he were elected, even he couldn't immediately pull out our troops, nor should he. Also, I don't suck, and I love America. You should be more civil, that is, for someone who is anti-war.

I just saw Osama's 26 year old son Omar with his 52 yr. old Brittish wife on Good Morning America. He said his father was wrong to take down the 2 towers, and he wants to be an "ambassador for peace" between Muslims and the West. Don't tell Omar that Bush actually did it, he might come after you.
