For a Mustang guy, you're a real dumbass. The Mach1 comes with 300hp the GTO comes with 400hp stock N/A. And, I own a Mustang, I love them, but I'd love a GTO for several reasons, 6spd, big LS2 6.0 400hp, independent rear suspension, and let's not forget, hugging bucket seats. The seats to this day in Mustang's are a fuckin' joke. They do make for a good ab workout when you're taking turns fast though.

my '05 goat gets about 18 local and 28 on the highway... if I drive the speed limit I can get 30 on the highway. Keeping it in gear all the time even on decel shuts off the injectors and it saves fuel. wonderfully designed system.
Thats true for any manual transmission car. The secret to GM's high performance cars getting good gas mileage is in the gearing. A Mustang GT for example has longer gear ratio's compared to a GTO. This helps it compete (somewhat) but hurts it mpg. My RX8 has 4.77's out the back and at 60 mph in 6th gear its at 3K RPM, not good for mpg. GM's cars have very short gear ratio's, meant for top speed and to boost mpg. The massive engine takes care of acceleration part ;)
Yea that's why I've always preferred the big pushrod/high torque engines with low revs... True lighter DOHC equipped cars are quick, but you need high revs to get those horses.
In logic this makes since but The Nissan line of VQ engines usually are equiped with 4.+ FDRs. Must be a VERY effective sray pattern to still receive 28+ MPG highway with hp/trq specs there laying down.
The last 350Z was able to hit 72 in 2nd gear right? Sounds like pretty short gear ratio's to me. An LS1 TA can reach 72 in 2nd and it averages about 26 mpg.

1st, the car weighed nearly 4,000 pounds, not 3500 that's closer to the weight of a fucking cobalt then it is the GTO. Second, the build quality on the GTO's were absolutely outstanding. What killed the GTO was lack of agressive styling, and extremely overpricing which was even said by Rick himself.
The suspension is garbage? when the ls2 hit it (which is over 400hp) it still got plenty of power to the wheels, with amazing track times. Idiot.

I also have a cold air intake, hooker long tubes, jet chip and a mass air flow sensor, i also did a few little things like indexing my spark plugs, re positioning the AIT sensor, little things like that. so it probably added about 25-35ish hp. all that combined, im not sure im doing a dyno here an a week or so.

Does anyone think the '09 G8 GXP with its estimated $38K pricetag will outsell the '06 GTO? If so, please give me some reasons why.

cuz the gto's werent build very good. sure they dropped an ls1 in there, but the suspension is garbage. plus the car is REAL heavy. 3500 lbs :(

Alright, here's why you're a complete fucking idiot.
1st, the car weighed nearly 4,000 pounds, not 3500 that's closer to the weight of a fucking cobalt then it is the GTO. Second, the build quality on the GTO's were absolutely outstanding. What killed the GTO was lack of agressive styling, and extremely overpricing which was even said by Rick himself.
The suspension is garbage? when the ls2 hit it (which is over 400hp) it still got plenty of power to the wheels, with amazing track times. Idiot.

how stupid are you? 200hp? stock its 275. get ur facts right dude. I also have a cold air intake, hooker long tubes, jet chip and a mass air flow sensor, i also did a few little things like indexing my spark plugs, re positioning the AIT sensor, little things like that. so it probably added about 25-35ish hp. all that combined, im not sure im doing a dyno here an a week or so.

your car is a Z28? that car is horrible at handleing, not even irs on it.. brakes horrible and it wieghs alot more than 2,800. Dont get me wrong i love the F- bodies. they are sweet. but kid your 18 so i dont blame u for not knowing anything about cars, its ok i understand youth is your weekness

the Z has nice handling, my best friend has a 92 honda civic hatch, i like his car mainly because he didnt rice it out, its stock, and is v ery quick for a little SI. but i beat him in cornering, me and him race all the time. and yes it does weigh 2800 lbs look it up.
