  • FDNY sucks donkey dick.

  • @HelloHansSolo do tell us how.

  • @longcut93 my aunts pet goat could have put this fire out before these dipshits. bunch of loozers who cant find a real job.

  • Wow huge fire

  • a ig job for us we were first due company massive 4 alarm /5 alarm

  • My family lives mere blocks from there. It was a definite loss from the business and building damages since that block had some historical presence to it. I checked the Brooklyn Public Library's archives and found an old 50s/60s pic of that exact corner and it looked just the same.

Sticking out of a part of the road on Flatbush and Ave. L is a piece of track from the old 41 trolley... I really love this borough!

  • no casualties i hope?

  • I think it was set to make room for new retail space and apts or condos.

  • Man...that was a BAD fire. I heard the investigators believe the Chinese restaurant started it (grease fire).

In any event, that was the Chase bank I would use whenever I was heading down to the Belt Parkway. Also, I usually got a coffee and bagel at Dave's. I hope they rebuild every store, including the overpriced Mac's Mens Shop.

  • omg thats 2 blocks from my house and across the street form my job!!!

  • I live a few blocks away

  • @broklynsbest word me to

  • so sad :-( my brother works in Mac's uniforms, and we live right in front of Mac's. this was a nightmare , to this day i still can't take this out of my mind.

  • @TheSocorro63 - SCORRO,IT WILL BE IN YOUR MIND AND HEART FOR A LONG TIME TO COME.JUST PRAY THAT THEY CAN REBUILD AGAIN SOON.PRAYERS TO YOUR BROTHER FOR THE LOSS OF HIS JOB.

  • i live near by that neighborhood

  • wow if they get hungry thay can go to lenny and johns pizza

  • I live like 10 blocks from where this happened

  • Wow , macs is were u would get my uniformss , SMh . . . how the hell did it happen

  • great footage

  • The Flatbush Ave and Flatlands Ave intersection has always been bad luck... in 1997, a building on the corner of that intersection collapsed totally. Today, that corner houses a one floor furniture store. And personally speaking, I always see near car accidents happening there and fools being pulled over by cops at that intersection for turning on Flatbush Ave towards Flatlands Ave when you're not supposed to (except for buses.)

  • @vivelecorn The locksmith store that got spared this time was destroyed in THAT collapse.

  • wowwwwwwwwww i lived down the block on kingshighway but i moved but wow i cant beileve this shyt happened!!

  • was there any damage to the Chase bank?

  • Comment removed

  • chase bank is completely destroyed on both floors. Watch after 7:40 you can see it. I saw that this afternoon it is really impressing.

  • Thanks for uploading. The news story was too short on NBC, had to go online to get the details.

  • Macs men shop was there for 83 years... what a shame.

  • My Uncle used to own Bruce's Bagles. Sold it a few years ago. This was a real shame, thank God no one was hurt badly or anything.

  • i passed by this on my bike and was pretty shocked. was that chase bank on the corner some sort of landmark?

  • @stevenyou no, but the clothing store was. i heard it was there for a few decades. my mom and a few people i know remember that place from when they were younger

  • @stevenyou

That building is not really a landmark, but is just historical for it's architecture because it shows a piece of colonial Brooklyn.

  • @vivelecorn

Not really Colonial (meaning British). The architecture is based on traditional Dutch designs, since the Dutch were the originally settlers of the Flatlands/Mill Basin area.

  • I walked out of my house to grab a drink and next thing I knew, the sky was glowing red. That bagel shop had such good bagels...

  • I think tht this was a third alarm.

  • My Mother used to work in that bank when it was Manufactures Hanover Trust and we used to buy bagels at that bagel store every Sunday after Mass. I haven't been back to Brooklyn in 30 years. Thank God no one was hurt.

  • wow i used to live around there...very sad ......hope it all turns around

  • I was in Bergen Beach and the smoke was so thick. I could'nt even drive thru some of it to see where this fire was. Thank God no one was hurt and it was'nt a house fire. I got home smelling like Bacon Bitts. Now seeing the video, I think of all that burning money in the bank.

  • Didn't take them long to cut the locks on a LOCKSMITHS store ?

  • There were helicopters flying around ryder street with a searchlight I was wondering what happened

  • wow i heard the fire alarms last night and didnt know what was goin on i live on flatlands and 36th it was goin on all night

  • thanks for the footage, I was on a B82 passing by.
