  • so wierd.. i got into these guys when i was like 12 and now im just rediscovering again

  • all they need is to add a japanese vocalist who speaks broken english and they could be Can

  • why is this sound quality so shitty?

  • i just discovered the music of Can... it seems like these guys were inspired by Can

  • I hung out with these guys for five days!

  • I listen to this, Exivious, and Bela Fleck and my friends all say, "man, you're such a hipster!" and I'm just like, "no, I'm a musician."

  • @funkfanzzify Chris Wood is the bassist in MMW. He plays both upright and bass guitar.

  • @superjay42 Thanks for answering. But I was just fooling around with the title Uninvisible and the video, I am a fan of MMV.and the bass is catching my ears first in this piece of music. have fun, thanks anyway

  • @funkfanzzify

    chris wood on bass

  • nothing like medeski in the morning.

  • just expierencied an EarGasm

  • my good!!!!!

  • anyone know who played the horn parts on this awesome awesome tune?

  • @strizic

They were actually sampled by DJ Logic. He collaborated with them for this album. He's providing alot of those spacey / ambient soundscapes in the background, as well as those horn parts you're talking about.

  • @ahyessdeeeph No offense, but DJ Logic is not featured on "Uninivisible" (though he did collaborate on "Combustication"). DJ P Love and DJ Olive are featured on a few other tracks on this album, but there is no DJ on this tune.

  • @strizic The horns on this track are: Mike Herbst on bari, Stuart Bogie on tenor, Todd Simon on trumpet, Aaron Johnson on trombone, and Jordan MacLean on trumpet. Arrangements by John Medeski.

  • @PetetheJazzMan so,so,so true

  • More please...just heard these cats for the first time...I did not know music like this was being made after 1974...there is a god

  • SEEN THESE GUYS A BUNCH, NEVER DISSAPOINT. DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR, GO OUT OF YOUR WAY IF YOU HAVE TO, AND SEE THEM

  • son unos genios..... hoy los veo!!!!

  • voltron!!

  • the snaredrums sounds sick!!! best sound since bonzo...

  • this video's tight

  • These guys should do some project with the Beastie boys.

  • @droumdoum Say What son? These "cats" as they should be referred to as, play major jazz festivals and play with John Scofield...no offense to any beastie boys fans, but Mike D is Medeski, Martin and Wood's shoe shine boy in comparision of raw talent, intellect, improv, and owning a respective instrument to it's farthest known reaches, and some unknown,.................

  • @jlha85 Say what son... whatever... When comparing the two trios and their effect on music and icon "stature". Major jazz fest ooooh! Playing with Sco so!?! Raw talent and improv shit the 6 of them are dripping it. So i was not talking about intellectual talent that you can understand i was talking about the gut feeling about a shcool called life wich EACH of them trancsend and no one is somebody's shoe shine for that matter! We're not talking Limp bizkit or Linkin park here!

  • This it's so cool!

  • Sounds like JTQ damn good!

  • I saw them live this year at Austin City Limits. They put on the best show of the weekend. Still one of the best live bands around.

  • They have such an ever-evolving style...who knows what these guys will do next!!!

  • @illnastic Its cool because as you listen to there music you notice so much changes between each. Did you know the first few albums Medeski played the grand piano? No organ or synth, then eventually he switched over to organ and synth. Its cool to hear new live jams of old songs because the tone difference of the organ vs the piano gives the song a new refreshing twists.

These guys are awesome live, lots of improve, and good grooves to dance to.

  • Ha...I knew he reminded me of someone! It's totally Conan!

  • Correction, the vid grew on me. so dope.

  • Not a fan of the video, but like the song and Conan on bass is awesome.

  • @123ERIC456BRODY

you are wrong man. billy martin is the drummer. don't pretend you know what you're talking about. "illy b"= billy wood.

  • met john in woodstock the other day, hes the man. my dad is their piano tuner he chills wit them all the time.

  • So many wicked grooves and basslines on that album that I'd forgotten about. Great to rediscover them.

  • Saw them at a small venue here in NJ! What a fabulous show!

  • Te amo mucho cosita hermosa, y es sólo para ti, como mi corazón que es tu propiedad desde el verano del 87.

    Siempre sonreímos juntos, recuerda eso!!

    TE AMOOOOOOO...!!!!

  • The video captures exactly what i see when i leave our bands practice room and go home. I know exactly, what you mean, guys.. Maybe except one thing - if i was playing with MMW, i would see MUCH more disturbing scenes.

  • 3:29 i'm in this video on the was left in the white shirt. I am also so very cool. The show was at Lupos in Providence RI

  • oh thats salty...I can taste it...

Shack-man's my personal fave, but this isn't too shabby either...:-)

  • my favorite album by them. Pure Genius.

  • increible inconcedible fabulosos son los amos y maestros de la musica lo adoro

  • i quote benjamin herman:

"in the end, nothing beats a good, filthy, stinking piece of music"

  • nothing better than sitting down to listen to some progressive downtemporockablueacidomethbreakfunkfusion.

  • Funky!! By white cats. Where is the world going? Black MF better dig, snoop dog & P diddy ain't the sh*t. And these cats are virtuoso's, all 3 of them. Us, white cats ain't all soul-less country music dumb shit's. Better dig what the media sell's you black people, we picked up on soul, and not on drum MACHINES. Better learn about your culture black people, rather than what MTV and the 3 piece white suit LA media sells you. LOL! We are going to be the minority soon, and we got the funk.

  • I think this is the best MMW cd.

  • yep, it is. I've told all my friends this, too.

  • this one after end of the world party

  • This is called "Fusion" or "Jazz-Fusion" as it is a mix of Jazz and Funk

  • Acid jazz is just a phrase, a name it means nothing. It just gets more young people listening to it

  • music isnt made to be argued over its made to be enjoyed titles are over rated jazz? funk? who gives a fuck its great music that should be appreciated ive seen them once live on the uninvisble tour and it was the best show ive ever seen

  • anybody listen to galactic? this reminds me of them. awesome!

  • galactic is a greeeat band, but in my opinion mmw are more intresting

  • right

    theyare kings

  • real music by real musicians who do it for the love of music and nothing more

  • just saw them at rothbury in michigan. unbelievably good all three times ive seen them now but were especially on at that festival. highlight of the whole weekend... i'd personally just call them a jazz jam band, to simplify things. theyre too diverse to be categorized, really, a lot like the band 'the bad plus.'

the person citing wikipedia for truth was being sarcastic by the way

  • hey how about this. its "good jazz" that settles all disputes

  • i wish i could put together a group like this, man. Everyone i know is either a jazz purist or don't even know what jazz is, I cant find anyone who can get between the lines enough to form a group with.

  • major props to whoever made this video. silly good tunes and dank footage/edit. i'm super in 2 this

  • its all about wood and billy martin... so freeeaking funky

  • this is art. Music is art. No sense in arguing what "type" of music this is. Funk, Jazz, Electronic, breakbeat.....it's all music.

  • Whats wrong with classification? Fine, I'm going to call this music Classical because I find is classic. You going to agree?

Whos the wordy asshole now? (me...)

  • sweet clip! great band! MMW!!

  • It's Coll esta wea men, buenisimos

    Venga Papá

  • This is not acid jazz. It's experimental jazz fusion, or at least this album is according to wikipedia, the most reliable source on the internet.

    Still, it's not acid jazz.

  • I agree, but wikipedia is very false alot of the time!

  • I hope you were being ironic with regards to the comment about wiki being the most 'reliable source'...

  • I think you mean sarcastic.

  • No, classic irony would suffice to describe a meaning which expresses the opposite of what's obvious. Had you addressed wikipedia (or another, more interactive interlocutor) personally and directed the irony in that direction, we would be dealing with the more specific sarcasm.

  • I did direct it towards wikipedia.

and using words longer than 12 characters makes your arguments look desperate and pretentious. Nobody respects big word assholes, not suggesting you are...yet. Anyone can use a thesaurus when writing. :)

  • Just using terms from my work with linguistics, dude. Pardon the long words. I'll try something else:

-Thank you so much for telling me who respects who and not taking my comments as personal criticism!!!(sarcasm)

-I just learn so much from these valuable conversations on youtube!!!(irony)

  • I just learn so much from these valuable conversations on youtube!!!

Still directed, sarcasm. I love your enthusiasm though.

  • Since long and scary words (which would explain the subtle differences between the two) are banned, I'm fine with you having that opinion. You are correct, at least in your initial reply:

"I think you mean sarcastic". Yes, you do.

  • you're cute, wanna trade pics?

  • also, differences is too long, use a shorter word. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND

  • I think I like you too. Can we talk about music or something a bit first, though? I like to know what I'm getting myself involved with. But let's take it somewhere private...no need to bother these wholesome folk.

  • nice response. lol

  • My friend... this is ... acid jazz.

    Trust me..:)

  • funk? who cares anyway

  • I agree this is NOT acid jazz

  • This the fav music of puppet "Waldo Waldorf" , he is a fan of MEDESKI:::::: just like me...... Acid jazz with a nice mixture...
