@philzgreat Bringing in food, water, shelter, etc doesnt do much good if you have no security. Thats what the PSCs, including Blackwater, were there to provide, security. The New Orleans PD couldnt provide it and there are even vids of cops taking part in the looting. In that kind of environment all it takes is a gang of criminals commandeering all your food/water/shelter and suddenly having some "burly guys in baseball caps with M4 assault rifles" around for security sounds like a good idea.

I was born and raised in N.O. This guy is correct. Many outsiders had such a bad opinion of N.O. that they believed the city deserved policing during Katrina rather than humanitarian aid. They viewed N.O. as a mini African Nation full of unlawful Africans that needed to be under martial law. This is why the after effects of Katrina happened as it did. In place of aid, the city got militia with huge attitudes. This included SOME of its own police force that performed poorly.

Since 13 yrs old(before that only .22's which arent really guns) I have practiced extensivley with a number of diffrent firearms(primarily my pa's AR-15, SKS, 10 gauge, 35mag(used 38 rounds until about 17yrs old)

O.K., i'll play. What kind of .50 cal rifle will you be using kimWSSmith ? What's your ammo preference, and what brand of can will you use and how will it be attached to said rifle ? I will probably go out on a limb here and say that you probably can't answer these questions without doing research first to find the answers.
