Once Mack Brown left UNC football went to hell. Texas which was not good at the time..mack brown arrives and every year are natl title contenders. 1997 still a great year. 11-1. I still have my #10 Oscar Davenport jersey lol.

You're right. If Mack Brown had stayed at UNC, they would have gone to the Sugar or Orange Bowl. But because he left, UNC got stuck in the Gator Bowl. Analysts always underestimate UNC football just because we're a basketball school. I totally agree with you
