Ok what with all the "Dilophosaurus don't spit" junk. Some dinos could have spit or have a poison bit. If you look at animals today like a camel or llama they spit or look at the komodo dragon thay have saliva that contains deadly bacteria that kills.
Cool video. Great pictures. Anyone got wind that the founder of Prehistoric Channel has written his first thriller book, THE ICE GORILLA is now being looked at by movie producers who are trying to turn the book into a movie. It depends on how well the book sells. Personally for me I'd love to see Jurassic Park IV and THE ICE GORILLA in movie theaters in 2013.
@superbird648 the reason they made it spit was because they were trying to stress the fact that they didnt know what the animals were capable of wen bringing them back to life but i admit i hate when now all of a sudden everyone truly believes it had frills and shot venom
One of my favorite dinosaurs ever. My other favorite would be the pteradactyl (however it's spelt). But if I had to name all my favorites I would run out of room on the comment section. But I do wish Dilophosaurus had much more action than the 5-10 minute scene that the dinosaur had with that dude from Seinfeld.
its not impossible for the dilo to have a frill. since the frill would not have became fossilized. it may also have spit something, even if it wasnt poison. the jurassic park people arnt stupid you know. they research before doing the movie
If I had to take a stab at it, I would think that dilophosaurus would act like a turkey vulture. They might have projectile vomited stomach acids at their prey, but the whole poison spit thing seems moderately far fetched. None the less, they were (correct me if I'm wrong) 10 feet tall and 15 feet long carnivorous beasts from the late jurassic, and early cretacious eras. I would wet myself if I ever saw one face to face spit or no spit.
the Dilophosaur in jurassic park was really cool, but in reality, they probably didnt have frills or shoot venom, and they were definitely a lot bigger.
I like Dilophosaur too, it's strategy of hunting (splitting poison to paralize and blind) is one of the most interesting in dinosaurs world ^^ (but I always liked triceratops the most :P)
well sort of :D its more like a :S because my PC's really slow, so I think it won't hold the graphics and the game will crash every time it uses too many FPS
Woah this is awsome! It is cool, just like the other one I saw,by you!I love this video and song! Thanks for uploading! But ,who sings the song/Thanks.Nice video.5 stars!Have a nice day!
also something that was wrong from Jurrasic Park was the fact that the size of the Dilophosaurus on there was smaller, in comparison to the actual size it was supposed to be. Reason they sized it down they said was so that people didn't get it confused with the Velociraptor's. Oh well it would be nice if they ever decided to make another sequel that they include Dilophosaurus in it and this time make it more like it's supposed to be. I mean after all they did that with the Velociraptors.
@superbird648 There actually is a game with Dilos, it's called Jurassic Park Operation Genesis. Maybe you've already heared of it. btw in JPOG the Dilo makes cute sounds.
@superbird648 Well, probably 'cuz it seems spectacular, and technically speaking, we don't know for sure that they didn't, just that we really have no reason to believe that they did, though that fragile crest remains unexplained. Dilophosaurus is known from only 2 complete specimens, supposedly, and their bones were in a "fused" state, indicating that they were juveniles, so it is possible that they were a good bit larger than the 19ft they are given credit for.
@superbird648 They made it with the frill for cinema. The spit was in the JP novel. It was just an idea by Michael Crichton like how the raptors in it had Chameleon skin. The real Dilophosaurus was better. And it was 20 ft long and 10 ft tall.
@superbird648 well jp was just looking for a cool special thing to add to a already exsisting animal there doing it again in there next game with a troodon like dino but just like the song facts arent made from these many ppl can disagree but everybodys looking for action
@superbird648 either old theories or simply did for dramatic effects. same thing for the raptors if they had used the real size for the raptors they wouldn't look as menacing on screen. nothing beats Talon from primal rage though he's still the coolest raptor in history.
@superbird648 Spielberg used it to differentiate the audience believing it as a Velociraptor. Crichton wrote about a venomous Dilophosaurus in his book published in 1991 which had flaps around its neck to prevent the poison dripping into an infection.
Check out my Review-Fo (Review/Informative) of Spielberg's Jurassic Park (1993) on my Tumblr page. Look for Smurfox, for our Blogfox website. (Pending publication of Review-fo, estimated 17/09/2011).

the skeleton at 4:08 is not Dilophosaurus. It's a Monolophosaurus, look at the single crest on the snout and the deep skull.
Dilo skull is at 3:42, compare them.
