  • The 2000 model can play PS1 games on a TV by using the basic cables. The PSP games do not work, but the PS1 games from PSN do actually work very well! Try it.

  • SELLING PSP 2000 BLACK 60$ CONTACT ME IF INTERESTED

  • can you help me i just got the component cables cord and it work great but the only thing wrong it the color it look wired and wrong.

  • this guy stalls so much just to get to the main idea. it takes him like 5 min

  • the vid is only fuckin 2 min long chill out and be patient

  • so i have a TV with only the white and yellow port, i have psp3000, and if i get the composite cabe i can watch pictures ,videos and music on the TV?

oh and what if i buy the Component cable 'instead of the composite', could i still watch videos with my TV of only white and yellow ports with the Component cable?

    I know i can't play games.

  • no, you cant use component cables if yer tv only has yellow composite inputs

  • Yes

  • i have the cable need but the only problem is that i dont have the right television

  • I just also realised that psp doesn't look as good on a 4:3

  • i got nokia composite cables for my N95. I tried using them for my psp but they dont work. Ive noticed that composite cables for psp have something that plugs into the speakers. Is that the reason?

  • can you watch umd movies on the tv with the composite cable?

  • gow! i love that game

  • That you can pretty much do anything on a standard definition cable when connected to the TV except play videogames on the device.

  • what did u really show us in that video?

  • hey i have one problem how do i play games using my only 2004 model i think tv what should ido plz help!

  • You will have to be more specific, if you have a series 2000 psp(the newer, thinner and lighter psp, the original psp cant do this without third party products) you can connect one of two types of video cables. The first is composite, the second is component. Composite has red yellow and white, and you CANNOT connect it to play games on the tv, but you can do most other functions with it. With component, you CAN play games on the tv, but only when connected to the HD component ports of the tv.

  • Thanks, It was the explanation I was looking for.

  • so composite for videos music and other stuff. and component for games p.s. does it work for the psp 3000

  • Im Sure Its The Other Way Round ?

Basically Red White Yellow Is Videos, Pics And Music, Red Green Bue Yellow White Is Everything Including Games :)

  • @TheImatron

0:35 Dude what game is that? How did you get it on the PSP

  • please tell me how you got your symbals like the photo pic on the main screen to look like rocks! that is soooo cool! please tell me nice video!

  • its called a theme.the cookie one is one that comes with the psp so you can put it on by going to settings, theme settings, theme, tasty treat. u can download new cooler themes and put it in your themes folder(if you don't have one make one in your PSP folder) or watch my tutorial in my profile.

  • cool thanks i will try it out :]

  • Ha. You've got one of those TV's that doesn't have progressive refresh rate? What I mean is you couldn't play your PSP game in your current options, but you were able to show off the PSP menu. I did that once with one of my old TV's that did the same thing. But sadly I couldn't play PSP games either. So that's why I had to get a HD TV with progressive mode to play PSP games. Unfortunately, I am unable to record my PSP anymore.

  • Well, I can play games on my HDTV if I wanted to, but I cant record only the PSP's video signal since I dont have an HD/component recorder, and theres already a bunch of videos online showing it being used on an HD screen anyway.

  • This is why handheld game consoles suck,In order to play PSP games on your TV,you need a HDTV with progressive scan mode & a composite five plug AV cable???????,This Is Fucking Bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you go to dam fast

  • so with composite cables you cant play games?

  • Exactly. the only exception is if Sony finds a way to fix it in the future, or a custom firmware is developed that can enable it.

  • The software to do this now exists. It's called FuSa. Look it up on psp-hacks,com.

  • hey guys, i have problem with my composite cable..no color on tv.i can play videos smoothly and play music but no color on tv..i've tried many ways to fix it.also tried on my fren's tv..also no color..

  • I cant tell you whats wrong there, you might want to exchange the cable and double check the connections. Could be a problem with the PSP itself, or if your plugging the composite cable into component ports on an hdtv, if you can tell me more I might be able to figure it out. My best gues is that one time I tried using the hd cables on the non hd ports of an hdtv, one of the plugs gave me a black and white image but it was split into two strecthed images on the screen that were unusable.

  • Plugging in the primary component cable will do this. Also, if there's a pal/ntsc setting on the PSP side, this needs to be changed. I'd say the former was more likely though.

  • do you need hd tv to play game while in tv output

  • Yes, you do need to have an HD tv, and you must have the component (Not the composite) video cables plugged into the PSP to play the video games, most other funtions on the PSP can still be operated, including UMD video

  • but what about an lcd tv? but you would need a component cable right?

  • A LCD (Liquid Crystal Display right?) can be an HDTV or a Standard Definition, depends on how it was built. With the current offical psp firmware, if the TV has component input, then you can access the games during output to the tv so long as component cables are used. The PSP cannot output games to the tv on composite cables (even when composite is plugged into an HDTV instead of component), and you get that message when you try. Everything else works though.

  • So if the LCD is an HDTV or has the component input ports, you should be able to use the component PSP cables and play games on it, otherwise you get the message shown in my video when you try it with composite.

  • ok thank you i guess i have to go buy one of those now!

  • what are the component cables

  • thier like av cables except instead of just the yellow plug for video you have a red, blue, and green plugs for the video and a seperate red and white plug for sound. Their one of the main HD tv cables

  • i have the plugs on my SD-TV I PLUGED IT IN AND IT DOESNT WORK TEll me why and dont say u need a hd tv

  • Ok then, thats not much to go by but Ill take a guess. First, try holding down the button that adjusts the backlight/brightness for five seconds. After three seconds it will go blank, and then something else pops on the screen for a second, then it should be outputing to the cables. then make sure the cables are plugged in and the tvs on the right channel or input. If that doesnt work tell me if the cable has three or five colored plugs.

  • In addition to the plugs you have, are you already getting any video and are just trying to play the games on the screen, or do you have no video at all in the first place? You can also go into settings and use the PSP output options and tell it to switch to the tv from there. Its all in the instruction manual after all.

  • i have video but it doesnt allow me to play games when i try to open a game it comes up with the screen that u have 6 seconds in the video

  • Well heres the problem, currently on SONY's own firmware for the PSP, you cant play the games with the composite cables (yellow white and red) plugged in, you have to have Component cables plugged into the PSP, and your tv has to have component input (white and red for sound, then green blue and red for video). Your only other options are to find a custom firmware that lets you and I have no idea how those work.

  • thnax buddy

  • thank's dude

now i know how to play the games on the tv

  • i allway,s dit trough that the psp can only output a res of 275x480, so how can the psp ever handle a res of 1080p if the proccesor is not powerfull enough.? and if so why sony not updates the psp,to upscale each game, foto, movie from whatever res to 1080p?

  • Till now this cable cannot support homebrew games output. Dark alex already made a Hello world program to demo that output is possible. Now waiting for some programmer to really create it

  • So what you mean to say is outputting the video game play itself is possible from composite (non HD cables), but Sony's official firmware does not allow it, but can be done useing an available custom firmware, correct?

  • How many songs can I have on a PSP? :O maximum

  • ...Without a memory card, Zero. The answer to your question is determined by two factors, A, how big of a memory card you have for the PSP, and how much space on the memory card is available. I dont know if there is a limit to how many songs the PSP can reconize at once, but even if there was I imagine the PSP would recieve an update to let it see everything on the largest available memory card out.

  • i have a psp component cable with 5 wires but in my tv i have only 3 places where i can insert the wire ( red, white and yellow) so which three shud i insert in the tv to play games etc etc plzz help me as soon as possible

  • You have the wrong cables to work with your particular TV, unless Sony releases some sort of firmware update to tell your PSP to use your components like a composite and only use one plug for the video (and I doubt they would) you would have to buy the cables that just had the white yellow and red ports, or get an ED or HDTV that had the other colored ports your TV doesnt have. And at that you cant output video games onto the TV with the red/yellow/white cables.

  • ok i did not read all ur comments cause its welll confusing.... i bought a avcable for my psp to play my games on my tv but it comes up with the same shit than what u have and i have mt format on progressive and i hac=ve 3.71 now what the fuck must i do to make it work i spent 12 pounds on a cable and it does only pictures and music videos i dont know cause i havent put any one can any one give the answera to my question plsss

  • Apparently the PSP screen is HD and UMD games run in HD though with connsiderably large bars around the screen, yet we can output UMD movies, at full screen with the lower quality cables...I think sony could be up to some sneaky marketing with this stuff, but we can only play UMD games useing the component cables onto an HD tv with it's current firmware. I dont know if a firmware update would unlock and allow us to output the games on a lower quality since it could be hard-wired in.

  • i have the video output for my silver psp and its fun but i hate the fact that the UMD games windows are not full screen but it makes the games look better.....some people have problems with theirs...get the HD cable(Component) because the original output cables wont let you play your UMDs

  • so we buy the HD thingo and it will work on normal tv's???

  • Only if your non hd tv has the red, blue and green video inputs (Component). And at that it wouldnt be HD but itd be decent enough. If it has only the yellow port, youd have to use the green component plug from the cable on the yellow input, but the resulting image is either scrambled or doubled and distorted.

  • I

love those themes may i have it?

  • Why do you whites always listen to bullshit music?

  • Why do you spammers always have to post something completely retarded? Oh yea. because you just like to p*** people off when they cant do anything but yell at you. Get a life.

  • lol. how do you leave that comment in, but delete mine when i praised your selection of music??

  • Dont know, maybe it never got posted properly or I accidentaly deleted it, maybe at the time I thought it was unnecisary and deleted it intentionaly? This guys being plain retarded, so Im leting his own comments make him look like an idiot. Though I know I didnt need to say anything in return, I felt it was neccisary to emphasize he's just here to troll.

  • Hey where did you get that theme that's pimpin!

  • it actually was installed along with my update to the PSP-2000 series hardware (the slim models). Im sure you could find it for free with effort, but you have to have compatable sony firmware.

  • I'm actally gonna get custom So I can get something else maybe I can get a completely different theme.

  • Sony's firmware (3.71) Has the ability for people to make their own themes and use them on their 3.71 OFW PSP's.. Sony done good!

  • what are you supposed to do when it says that for a game

  • I gues I have to unplug the caple from the psp and play the games on the PSP's screen, either that or set up the component cables which do enable play on the screen.

  • does it look a lot better through component? and could you do wide screen through composite?

  • I can select widescreen or standard 4x3 display on either cable, each cable does everything the opposite cable can do, except the composite cannot output the games. The quality on the component is pretty good, and if youd only use the cables on an HD screen, go for the component, their the same price anyway.

  • should i buy the new PsP 2000 or should i buy the old PsP? i have herad that the old one got better sound!, so witch one should i buy ??

  • I havent tested the sound too much for quality, but they seem to work better especialy that the sound is directed at you from the from. However for battery life headphones are recomended anyway. I'd urge you to buy the new one owning both myself, but if you already own an older one you might now be missing much other than video output.

  • That theme make me sooo hungry

  • I wish you could do this wirelessly through remote play!!

  • So do I but that would make sense! We know Sony they probably want to sell us the cables first and then release the remote play to the ps3 screen XP. On the other hand wifi'ing the video wouldnt look so great and maybe a USB video display to the ps3 would work.

  • nice music selection you got there.

  • After some talking with people I know, apparently the games run in HD, and are programmed for the PSP's screen, which is apparently, HD. So the games can only be output in HD as I understand it, thus why the games will only run on the HD cables...Still doesnt make alot of sense to me though

  • WTF?? So the only way to play games on my tv is to have a HD TV? I hate that! i have a STANDARD tv. Why would sony do this?

  • They don't mean to make it hard for us, but Sony is just probably pointing out what the PSP is not capable of. In this case, playing a game a NON-HD TV!

  • That is what I would assume, but unless it's hardware design physicaly doesnt allow this, I would think that a firmware update would allow the psp to output games one non hd tvs. Especialy since it can still play UMD movies configured for its own hd screen, this is why Im confused with it.

  • i have a psp...but im just way too nOOb to get it right....i put songs but most of them arent completely uploaded into the psp...i dont quite understand the interent settings so i cant conect...T_T can you help me? or point a tutorial for me? =D

  • Pointing it out? That's stupid. They aren't "pointing it out", it just isn't compatible...

It's your own fault if you don't have a compatible tv is it not?

  • Wicked!

  • So you can't play games using an AV cable?

  • Well, them video is squished, a setting on the recorder did it if youtube didnt, and I wasnt aiming at makeing the best possible video here, so please dont complain about what I already know is sub par.
