Religions who rely on this kind of filter of do not do this, do not do that, do not eat, do not wear - those are being mocked - and with reason. Is that all adventism has to offer to people? I know personaly that this is not true, but this video shows that when it comes to (church)people THAT is the way they practice religion. What do we have to show other people? Food and labour day restrictions and what not?

I was brought up as an Adventist and still live in an area with plenty of them around and many still my friends. They are great people but this video hits the nail on the head (not the gun scene though... that one lost me for relevance). I would pay for an app like this!!!
This video makes it seem like we are legalistic and that we obey such rules to please other people. There is a reason why the Adventist church is in a Laodacian state; it is because we don't take ourselves seriously enough, and we don't cherish our beliefs. Instead of trying to please people, we should work towards pleasing God.
How sad that this app would no doubt fly off the shelves, if it were real. I agree that it's important to have a sense of humour, just not at the expense of other people. This video would get jerked off YouTube in an instant if it was talking about any ethnic group.

Adventist Church has the truth and the best guidelines to life. I am glad I am an SDA. This does not in anyway say that we are better than anyone. We are as weak and vulnerable as any other person. Encouraging thing is that God is ever willing to forgive us any number of times as long as we are genuine about it. We as a church are safe as long as we recognize that we are sinners and the Lord is able to cleanse us all the time. Church does not save us, we are saved individually!!
I am an Adventist too, and I also approve this message! If we can't laugh at ourselves, well then, we're in trouble. @jepc92003 it means ur worse. SDAs are the biggest lot of meddling, nosey, judgemental, conservative bigots who think that they have the 'truth' and no one else does. They also think it entitles them to live the way they want and act the way they want as long as they can show up on saturday morning and quote line and page from EGW. Course, lots of churches are like this so it's not limited to SDAs, but being the most conservative lot of them makes it even worse.

@jepc92003 I grew up in the SDA church so I know exactly what it is like. Just like any organization of people it has it's problems and problem people. I'm not saying that everyone who is an SDA is these things. I am saying, from a steriotypcial standpoint SDAs tend to be these things. It is not only the conservative wing of the church that contributes to this problem but the liberal wing as well. Live by a Christ like example if you want, but not by 27 doctorines....

The point is being missed here. It's about loving Jesus Christ , reading his word and asking for the Holy Spirit to teach you right from wrong. I went to an adventist school and church, I am sorry to the die hard adventists but their too strict! Sabbath is an even stricter day. I'm an Adventist and I still have a life, and money, and TV, and caffeine... The "no meat" rule is just there to promote a healthier lifestyle. For anyone who's arguing that this makes Adventists look bad: I'm not an Adventist, it doesn't.
If I was to draw a conclusion about 7th Day Adventists based on this video, my conclusion would be that they have a sense of humor and are not afraid to have a good laugh at their own expense, that's a positive thing!
Neither Ellen White or the Church ever said you CAN'T eat meat, they just said that a vegetarian diet is better for you in the long run. SDA owned and operated hospitals have made more medical breakthroughs so, I think they know a little something about health and medicine. And, let's not forget, the apostles were still keeping the sabbath long after Christ was gone.
@laserman300 I went to their SDA boarding school and the rule was NO MEAT of any kind, I don't see in the bible where it says we can not eat meat of any type, isn't that why theord gave us animals? I.e. being vegetarian/vegan--that's a big one--going to church on Saturday. I was brought up as an Adventist and still live in an area with plenty of them around and many still my friends. They are great people but this video hits the nail on the head (not the gun scene though... that one lost me for relevance). I would pay for an app like this!!!

This video makes it seem like we are legalistic and that we obey such rules to please other people. There is a reason why the Adventist church is in a Laodacian state; it is because we don't take ourselves seriously enough, and we don't cherish our beliefs. Instead of trying to please people, we should work towards pleasing God.

How sad that this app would no doubt fly off the shelves, if it were real. I agree that it's important to have a sense of humour, just not at the expense of other people. This video would get jerked off YouTube in an instant if it was talking about any ethnic group.
We as 7th Day Adventists should be standing up for ourselves, and not tolerate this type of bigotry.

Adventist Church has the truth and the best guidelines to life. I am glad I am an SDA. This does not in anyway say that we are better than anyone. We are as weak and vulnerable as any other person. Encouraging thing is that God is ever willing to forgive us any number of times as long as we are genuine about it. We as a church are safe as long as we recognize that we are sinners and the Lord is able to cleanse us all the time. Church does not save us, we are saved individually!!

@jepc92003 it means ur worse. SDAs are the biggest lot of meddling, nosey, judgemental, conservative bigots who think that they have the 'truth' and no one else does. They also think it entitles them to live the way they want and act the way they want as long as they can show up on saturday morning and quote line and page from EGW. Course, lots of churches are like this so it's not limited to SDAs, but being the most conservative lot of them makes it even worse.

@jepc92003 I grew up in the SDA church so I know exactly what it is like. Just like any organization of people it has it's problems and problem people. I'm not saying that everyone who is an SDA is these things. I am saying, from a steriotypcial standpoint SDAs tend to be these things. It is not only the conservative wing of the church that contributes to this problem but the liberal wing as well. Live by a Christ like example if you want, but not by 27 doctorines....

@jepc92003 On the subject of me being judgemental, I'll admit that I am. I've seen enough of this organzations' corruption and deception to make a judgement call. It's not a sin to be judgemental. It IS a sin to use that judgementalism to tell people how to live their lives so they can attend the church. It IS a sin to 'donate' money to the church provided it further's your personal interests and beliefs. I could go on but but Bible thumpers can and will eventually hit back.

The point is being missed here. It's about loving Jesus Christ , reading his word and asking for the Holy Spirit to teach you right from wrong. Watch yourself for one day very carefully and ask yourself if you would have done differently if you knew God was coming around the corner! The ap is on the obvious, but what about an unkind word spoken, etc. Our faith is in Jesus and His blood shed for us. He is our righteousness! Praise God! I went to an adventist school and church, I am sorry to the die hard adventists but their too strict! Sabbath is an even stricter day. No jewerley (wedding ring exception) no caffeine, no TV, no spending money, no life., I would follow that religion if I wouldn't get looked at like a satanic freak when I walk in with my brow ring. I'm an Adventist and I still have a life, and money, and TV, and caffeine... The "no meat" rule is just there to promote a healthier lifestyle. There's already a lot of scientific evidence supporting that a vegetarian lifestyle is the best for your body. Anyways, I think this video is hilarious.

So what would happen if Adventists are caught by other Adventist breaking the commandments of Adventism? maybe they would be disfellowshipped. Raised SDA but my walk with God has led me out of Adventism and away from the beast.

If I was to draw a conclusion about 7th Day Adventists based on this video, my conclusion would be that they have a sense of humor and are not afraid to have a good laugh at their own expense, that's a positive thing!

Neither Ellen White or the Church ever said you CAN'T eat meat, they just said that a vegetarian diet is better for you in the long run. SDA owned and operated hospitals have made more medical breakthroughs so, I think they know a little something about health and medicine. And, let's not forget, the apostles were still keeping the sabbath long after Christ was gone.

@laserman300 I went to their SDA boarding school and the rule was NO MEAT of any kind, I don't see in the bible where it says we can not eat meat of any type, isn't that why theord gave us animals? Some for companions and some to eat? I can't tell ya how many time I snuck in a big Mac and a diet coke :)

@Silvastrings This video was made by Seventh-Day Adventists, for Seventh-Day Adventists. It's making friendly-fun at the practices of the religion. I.e. being vegetarian/vegan--that's a big one--going to church on Saturday. It's funny because most adventists are like this when they're around non-adventists ("badventist"), so the joke is using the app to know when another adventist is around, so you can be a good adventist! Get it? It would make more sense if you yourself were adventist.

@Silvastrings The point is that adventists are banned from eating pork, and an adventist friend busted a man eating pork, the kids were playing vid games on their Sabbath, which is suppose to be a day of rest and reflection, and you do nothing on the Sabbath, so when the app sounded they switched to something else. Read up on SDA and you will understand
