Not exactly the kind of belly dancing I'm learning, but it looks pretty. I like the hair flip. I also have super long hair, so I'm gonna incorporate that in my moves! =^_^= Consider the hair flipping move stolen!! :-D
It is called improvisation dear, some thing only skilled dancers like this can do, You really should post your own video, see what others say about you.
your dance is ok, but not professional! you must see how lebanese girls dance! all people in the world can dance like you. you must move your body much more.
Because it was Russian ballet instructor Ivanonva that fused cabarat, folk, and ballet into what is commonly called Arabic Dancing, to this day Russian "belly dancing" retains a greater degree of ballet and is closer to the Ivanova creation than contemporary belly dancing that has tilted towards the caberet form.
This was pitiful and this little belly dancing seems very amateur compared to what I've seen already. Perhaps this is not her best work, I will view some more vids.
What is the difference between her style of dance and that of BDSS? Here is a similarity, lacks individual expression, and sincerity! the BDSS (wihtout intending to advocate) have the duty to put on a theatrical entertainment for 2hours long-if not longer. Why do you seem to confuse this tasteless hopping for bellydancing?
I ask you what do you know of bellydancing? firstly it originates from the middle east, namely the Egytian sytle which is clearly seen her in this dancers movements as you call it the tasteless hopping. There is clearly an original middle eastern style and a western style, both are legit, but are different one is the root - the other branches
what shows in so many comments is peoples fear of someone who dances sexy or sensual... people feel threatened by it instead of embracing it and acknowledging their own sensuality, feeling fear that someone is better than them or going to take their man away from them.... all of this stems from fear. She is an amazingly expressive dancer in the TRUE Egyptian Style, and professional and advanced dancers know it when they see it.
You should simply google down "Dyhia Queen of Berbers", and that should hint to where I'm coming from..My origins do not in anyway predispose me to being an "expert"in bellydacing, but i have danced this dance and multiple other derivatives and variants from my tender years..i have therefore Lived, breathed, and danced "BELLYDANCING"my entire life.
Your presumptuousness just goes to show how much of an "imaprtial" take you have on "bellydancing", and how opiniated you are about such a "subjective" matter. Needless to say, you have every right to express your "unfounded" opinions.
it is you who isn't impartial. You made a rude and derogatory comment about this lovely dancer who is dancing the Egyptian styled raks sharki. By the way this is cabaret and not folkloric bellydance - there is a difference and you are not able to distinguish the Cairo style from your Berber style. I am opinionated when it comes to correcting rude & nasty people.
Right, there is no more ledt to say.You know best by the tone of your writing. What more can i expect of your understanding of any form of art when you know no more of the art of debating other than "aggressivity" and "arrogance". Do you teach in the UK? I would love to join one of your classes Master.
actually i am not aggressive & arrogant, it is u who has been all along with your so called Berber knowledge of bellydancing.. u can't handle a different opinion that challenges yours... ma'salama
well than you would know that the style above here is the current bellydance style in Cairo maybe not the Berber style. You lack respect by your critism towards this dancer - lucky that the Egyptian & Lebanese friends that I have show such more respect and appreciation for the different styles, than you do towards professional foreign bellydancers, because they respect the skill & art done.
contrasting arguments: "she dances authentic Egyptian" then you decontextualise to say, it is the "current style in Cairo maybe not the Berber style".... IGNORANCE IS BLISS. What ever it maybe, just keep on dancing Ishtar... I look forward to seeing one of your dances soon.Peace
yes, and where are your vids of your dancing? You give out all your amazing critic of the dance and claim to dance but not one video of you dancing... ??? it is always so easy to critise a dancer and so much harder to do better !
Posted the above reponse without intending to cause any offense or argument. I am merely expressing an opinion that is different to yours, based on my relative-in-depth knowledge of bellydancing, being that i'm of Berber ethnicity.
you don't make sense to me... i wouldn't bother to google dyhia queen of berber etc, it is of no relevance. Sorry to say but the majority of bellydance teachers and professional dancers world wide ONLY dance the Cairo Cabaret style or versions of it - Egypt is the centre of bellydancing seeing as they have created the Raks Sharki style, and it is what is most commonly danced.
She dances beautifuli, but she doesn't have an idea how to dance for this type of misuc. She should watched orginal Turkish bdancers. Sorry...
