normally I don't like game show themes with lyrics. But let me admit that Monopoly is a very catchy theme and Adam I think this was temporarily for the summer and all. Do you think that ABC would have brought back Super J! and Monopoly if they became hits like they did with Millionaire nine years later? Or would it have fared well on ABC Daytime and syndication as planned.

I wished that they give you as many rolls as you like in the bonus round. What happens if they rolled 5 times and they did NOT get around the board or land on "Go to Jail"?

my guess is that they lost the money if they didn't make it in 5 rolls. But i did know they lost the money when landing on GTJ

They lose the money just like when hitting a Go to Jail space. Which is why they always get the option to stop or play after each sucessful roll.

Monopoly should be revived. Mike Riley was a terrible host. If it gets revived it should be an hour long show.

If there was a faster way to earn the properties, then maybe the main game would've been twice as long and could've been a hit. I'm trying to think of a way to do that for a "YouTube" Pilot. But I want to remove the crossword element because it's too much like Scrabble, which was an awesome show itself.

I given my other thoughts on other Monopoly videos so I will now give my real opinions about Monopoly here. I'm partial to this show because it premiered when I was born and Merv Griffen in gneral. It did not really resemble the game that much and did not have simple rules. It was still a good game and had a great deal of money involved. Mike Reily was probably how I would host a show; enthusiastic but fast and friendly. Peter might have been better. Executuion was so-so. My grade is 4 stars.

i would like to see the game played with out all the questions and the bonus round granted would be a long game but you could make it into an hour show and keep it going like millionare did when they ran out of time. they made the game too complicated with all the questions to win rent that was its downfall i think.. people who like the real game would have watched it even if it took a week to complete..

if were gonna revive this, I'd start every1 with $500 ask questions for control of the monopolies in round 1 answers also win the total value of the properties in that monopoly, round 2 play as normal just longer, bonus keep it the same, but up the per square payoff to $200 per square, and landing on Go wins a jackpot that starts at $50K and increases by $1K everytime it's not won.

*THE* problem, basically, was the producers tried to cram an hour-long show into 30 minutes. If this were an hour-long show (yes, I remember it was paired for 12 of the first 13 weeks of a special J! tourney), that would've allowed time for the host to banter with the players (and perhaps the dice girl), *of course* there would be more of the big money round and, generally, everyone would have time to breathe.

Okay, for everybody who doesn't read everything ever written about game shows and therefore has no idea what he's talking about...Peter Tomarken hosted the unaired pilot for the version of this series that was supposed to go into daily syndication. It's believed that station managers passed on it because instead of that red neon frame circling the board, they had a midget dressed as the Monopoly guy running around the board.
