  • The bells Are so Fuckin EPIC!!

  • mike pornoy like a god!!!

  • Who was the asshole who told portnoy that the's the major super rockstar of all time? Fucking douchebag! Get down of the cloud... you're nothing but a simple drummer who believes that without you DT won't work... and there is!! Mangini kick your ass!!

  • @gaspar206 You can't compare the feeling...

  • god...?

  • Oh how I wish that drumstick he threw up hit him in the head and knocked him out cold. Oh that would be the day.....

  • @RufMixa247 wtf

  • @RufMixa247 So you're one of those douchebags that's still pissed about him leaving Dream Theater?

  • @IPstixrawesume Fuck no. haha. I hated him way before he even left. He's a major douchebag in person and treats no one with respect. So fuck Portnoy.

  • @RufMixa247 I like him but I've heard that about him too unfortunately...

  • @RufMixa247 Actually, I completely disagree. I had the pleasure of meeting Mike and his family outside of a concert setting and completely at random. Hell, I interrupted his family outting and he was more than pleasant to me. I would think that if he treated no one with respect I would have been chewed out for having the audacity to speak to him... and yet, he and his family gave up their time to chit chat. Sounds like a down to earth guy to me?

  • @MDSienzant I tried to meet him at a clinic and he was a complete dick to the entire staff and the fans at the Sam Ash he was at. He complained of not getting his coffee on time and didn't even bother to play on the set because he did the clinic for free which is COMPLETE bullshit if you're a musician.

  • Very small stage

  • MP looks a bit like Zappa lol

  • hahahahaha 0:43 for rudess's goofy (literally) face

  • hi we're dream theater and we're dick swinging ego math metal musicians like everything from sweden

  • Beautiful. Simple as that. Or to delve further....the epitome of.

  • Youtube should put an EPIC button

  • Why is his drum kit so small :P

  • By far my favorite song off falling into infinity, perhaps my favorite DT instrumental of all time.

  • why do you faintly here tom rolls at 1:04

  • New Millennium, Hell's Kitchen, Lines in the Sand, and Trail of Tears were the only good songs on Falling into Infinity.

  • @Deathz0r94 I don't agree... I think that Hollow Years and Peruvian Skies are very good songs too...

  • i wish i could describe how i feel when i listen to this but there are no words in the English language to properly portray the absolute power, energy, righteousness, undeniably overwhelming spirit...yes, spirit....of this song. when youre at a low point it makes you feel like you can keep going. when things are at their best it makes you feel like THE unstoppable in the universe. I have never heard another band (and i have searched) that puts together a piece of music like DT.

  • @kekrazy Agreed.

  • I would fuck sheep for that drumset!!

  • What's this song? o.O!

  • @slmc777 clue is in the bloody name of the video!

  • good look XD

  • I feel embarred that my drum kit compared to this monser is like comparing my cock size to that of a horse

  • @tommyXBOX360 odd comparison... but agreed!

  • All his Cymbals look like the Cymbal section at Percussion Center :0

  • really hate those bells. i like the guitar much better, like the album version.

  • I don't understand why he is giving the back to the crowd (or he is not?)

  • @bowlingfor1 Think of the Drummer Festival as concert/clinic. Turning his back to the public makes it possible to observe his amazing skills.

  • Im gonna miss MP so much...

  • All I heard was: BELLS BELLS BELLS BELLS BELLS BELLS BELLS BELLS BELLS BELLS BELLS FINALE

  • I don't understand why there are no oficial live version of this song.

    Is fucking amazing.

  • @atgvideo I agree with you!

This song deserves a live version...

They have a lot of amazing instrumental songs (like stream of consciousness, erotomania, dance of eternity etc....), but this one is simply thrilling. The proof that Dream Theater is much more than a technical band, but it shows they have a incredible feeling too.

  • fat portnoy...

  • I think this song should have been near the end of Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from A Memory. It has an epicness that could lead into The Spirit Carries On.

  • R.I.P travis barker.. u he manage to do something like this... we will consider him 1 of the bests... till then...

  • My favorite part (L)

  • has anyone noticed that in this video mike looks alot like frank zappa lol

  • Rudess adding the church-bells was a brilliant idea... he can really be quite the tasteful keyboard player!

  • I wonder if his kit is big enough :)

  • its even better if you put your arms out straight either side wave them about close your eyes and nod your head while spinning round in circles. dont beleive me? try it.

  • SOUNDS LIKE CHRISTMAS

  • @btolosa you sound like an idiot, its just bells

  • Shame Portnoy's left DT now eh..

  • dream theaters drummer is fucking awesome!

  • @antiC125 Everyone in Dream Theater is a master of their instrument. Even John Myung. Yes even him. ^_^

  • @Zero15555 I agree

  • @Tomaxzo oh my bad i thought u said "is this the version from instrumedly" i thought it was a question not a statement, sorry

  • @Tomaxzo im assuming, why would they play it in the instrumedley and then play the whole song?

  • someone can share the video with whole song?

  • @fabianri watch?v=SsRJEOxDwuA this is the video of MP playing Hell's Kitchen.

  • the first :41 seconds of this is amazing. imagine ppl who havent heard of him (rele?) and see him not only drumming at that high level, but flipping and throwin sticks

  • the bells sound so much more amazing

  • You know one day I wish to be like Mike Portnoy. He is the reason why I play percussion, just to be like him. I know I suck a little bit, but practice makes perfect.

Oh and BTW, those of you going to the EMP(Experienece Music Project) in Seattle/Bellingham, I'll be there.

  • wtf Mike Portnoy looks like Cactus Jack in this vid xD

  • Great band lots of talent. Love their covers of Rush.

  • the whole video of this used to be on youtube but now its not! anyone know where i can find it?

  • @maplehappy It's gone. It also used to be on Metacafe. I think that's where I got it. I'm lucky I downloaded it before it vanished.....

  • Oh, too bad, I thought there was the whole Hell's Kitchen thing (with my favorite part), but I've already watched this version of Instrumedley...

Oh well, no need to insult anybody.

  • nice definition!

  • 0:42, rofl

  • FFFFFFFFUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • This Song Is Instrumedley Mutherfucker

  • This is the Hell's Kitchen part of Instrumedley you moronic swine. Get your facts straight before insulting other people and making a fool of yourself.

  • @maimaiu Intrumedley is a medley of about 8 instrumental part of full length dream theater or liquid tension experiment songs, that were "glued" together to make one piece that dream theater tends to play live.

    /wiki/Instrumedley

  • @avatarportal123 Trial of Tears, Hollow Years, and Lines in the Sand would like a word with you.

  • @Wiiman895 Just Let Me Breathe and Take Away My Pain are also good!

  • Those church-bells make it ever more epic O_o Portnoy is so damn inspirational

  • @ThaTyger

Yeah, Portnoy is so damn inspirational with those church bells... Which are played by Rudess?

  • @Synthesizerist sorry for not including the "enter" in the comment that would have made it easier for you to understand that the two statements are not related. You can also replace "O_o" by "and", that fixes the issue as well.

  • @Synthesizerist hahaha yeah that sentence makes no sense, but I agree he his so damn inspirational XD

  • estupido

  • Cause keith Emerson smokes him on evry keyboard like a tuna

    like a tuna

    like a tuna

  • @rrdrums110 haha i am so glad your account got banned

  • Hahhahahahahhahaahhahahaaha

  • I know you are a GREAT fan of DT, rrdrums. You comment in all DT's videos!

  • Yeah? How come he lives in keith Emerson's toilet then?

  • wtf is wrong with you? Jordan Rudess is an amazing keyboard player

  • does anyone remember when they had this in the full video on here?

  • One of the greatest epic endings!

  • jordans tatoo is at 0:44 :)

  • @mackie500 it's not a tatoo. it's something that he had on his hand. but not a tatoo.

  • I like music like CC or Slayer, but that's so nice music that it's damn hard to resist and don't fall in sadness a bit, even for a while... strange.

  • Epic stuff...One of my favorite parts

  • jordan tatoo ??? :S

  • @ungodlyvomit falling into infinity. they were extremely influenced by the label at that moment. so maybe this song and raise the knife (which is not on the actual album) somehow appear to be their individual creations during that time.

  • what ever happened to that tattoo on jordans hand?

  • it could be just temporary

  • oh my god. i teared a bit.

  • this song is just nothing without those bells

  • omfg. it sounds so majestic with the bells that tears shot into my eyes.

great piece of music that is, unfortunately being on the wrong album.

  • @Accavarium Yeah, I've always yearned for it to have been released on one of their albums with Rudess and the new recording sound quality perfection they've achieved. Preferably including the bells.

  • @Accavarium Yeah, that and Lines in The Sand were the only songs worth hearing on that album.

  • @Accavarium What do you mean wrong album?

  • its a part of instrumedley

  • Hahaha! It's kinda funny at the end he was like.. hitting his cymbal with one hand while standing and waving to everyone else with the other hand.

He can deal with his drums and his fans at one go! :D

  • beautiful song

  • jordan rudess is WAY to loud

  • You're way too loud.

  • this is instrumedley, and for some reasons thats just what they do

  • this copy sucks thats all.

  • sounds better than the original anyway :p

  • keyboards cannot be too loud... they are always mixed way too low anyway so everytime you can actually hear clearly what is coming from the keys you know that thw FOH must be a good guy ;)

  • what i mean is

this is a DRUMMER festival and you can bearly hear mike

  • yeahhh but the keyboards were kinda taking place of lead guitar soooo0o0 guess they had to be heard?

Cuz if Petrucci took lead then spotlight'd be on him.

Pretty epic part of the song s0o0 yeah o.O

Was for the best I suppose

  • i wish i could have such a drumset!

  • Have they ever played Hell Kitchen by itself live?

  • Sorta. It was originally the middle section of Burning My Soul and they've played it that way a few times.

  • Don't think so o.O

  • you wish you could play a note of this song lol

  • it's not that hard just the beginning

  • Mee too !

My fav song is octavarium :)

  • Portnoy and his porno mustache lol...

    cracks me the hell up.

  • the instrumedley is clips of their instrumental songs from DT's career, and two songs from Liquid tension experiment. Paradigm shift, and universal mind

  • incredible part :D

  • eh...

  • SICK!!

  • Really Really amazing... but, i'm not found yet the complete song in live

  • Yah, me neither.

  • but this is the finish of instrumedley

  • Yeah, which is Hell's Kitchen.

I think it'd kinda dodgy that we get to see the end of instrumedly and not the whole song, but oh well, it is the ending that's best. :)

  • You two do know that Instrumedley = just a bunch of clips from their songs trough out their career, right?

  • Too bad it's not the whole thing but! thank you very much for this! :)

  • fuck.............yea, this song just..makes me happy :) i mean the whole song, listen the whole song, u'll know what im talking about

  • Yeah i know what you mean :) It's my favourite Dream Theater song.

  • well, my fave DT song is Take The Time.

  • hah, same here. Well Take the Time is one of my favs at least.

  • @Shebulba my fav is A Nightmare to remember.

  • @adrianomel i know what you're talkin about, to me though its kind of a sadder feel than happy

  • Amazing...
