  • figure! <3

  • Rhythmic is way harder but ice skating is way scarier. Lol

  • Figure Skating!

  • even if its a toe shoe

  • i think both sports are hard but fs is probably a little harder cuz in a spiral the skate can weigh up to 10 pounds and on rg you only have a barefoot

  • @TheEquestrianKat actually there is rhythmic figure skating and we use hoops and ribbons and balls. My coach use to do it

  • Comment removed

  • I think both sports are beautiful and are great in their own way.

  • i personally think that both sports are super hard. i do gymnastics, but there is no way in hell that i could do that twistie jump thingie(i think its called a lutz). but i also don't think that skaters can work with a ball or clubs the way a gymnast does. both sports take grace, balance, flexibility and an incredible amount of dedication and talent. neither is BETTER, just different. I have a huge amount of respect for the skaters, but i've never done it before so i don't know how hard it is.

  • @TheEquestrianKat It's called an axel. :P

  • is that u

  • i have to say Ice Skating cause i have seen some routines done with the ribbon and a sash plus other things and its really great you cant combine RG with skating but you can combine ice skating with RG :3

  • and not to mention how much height u need to land those triple jumps!! You thinks ice skating is easier than rg beacause those proffesional ice skaters make it look effortless!! Well its not!! i agree tht rg is very impressive but i like ice skating more. And u have no idea how much they work to land does jumps and how to not travel much on spins!! and ice skating is much more dangerous tht makes it more impressive of how the people land those stuff! Its super hard to get the rotations down!!!

  • not just anyone can go out and land a double axel or even just a single! it can take skaters from a few weeks/months to 1 or more years to land a single axel. like it took me three months! and dont even get me started on footwork...... it's SOOO hard. you gotta move your feet so fast! and the pain us figure skaters have to go through.... ecspecially when you start doubles and triple! we smack down on the hard, cold ice and can slide into the wall! i say figure skating for sure!!!!!!!!!

  • it's similar in the fact that flexibility is a plus in both and there are many acrobatic tricks, however the two sports cannot be compared in terms of difficulty.. they are completely different, require different muscle groups, etc... look at the equipment and environment they are in.. you can't compare it...both are beautiful and difficult in their own way.

  • Absolutely.. Figure Skating!!

  • Figure Skating!!! im not just saying because i am a figure skater its just true.yes gymnast have an amazing talent but can they can on a thin blade two edges and toe pick and get on slippery ice ..doubt it. yes they do split jusmps on the ground but figure skaters do it on ice its more daring if you ask me.

  • They only showed Sasha Cohen if they showed more ppl there would be a lot to choose for and thats more like tumbling than to Gymnastics. I am hoping to do both Gymastics and Figure Skating!

  • FIGURE SKATING ALL THE WAY!

    more graceful, beautiful, hard....

    everything.

i mean just look at some of these jumps! axels, lutz's, toe loops.... gosh. people are stupid!

  • RHYTHMIC ALL THE WAY!!!

  • i would have to say Figure Skating because u have just a tiny blade to blance on my doing all kinda jumps n spins in the air n n landing back on there blade n having to do the split jump n it is very hard to do that kind stuff n having to do the layback spin , the I spin n alot more spins ..... then there is the jumps like the Axel , Lutz , nthe flip there is alot of more jumps .... so iwould have to say Figure Skating is really hard

  • I agree with allison10sunny because Figure Skating does take alot of strength, grace, endurance and patience and also they spin on there feet but figure skaters spin not only on the ice in the air then land on one foot on the toe and I'm not denying that it take effort to be any type of gymnast because it does because I used to be one and now i am a figure skater doing axels double loop, double salchow and double cherry etc.. so i can compare x

  • Figure Skating is strength, grace, endurance. Being comfortable on a blade is harder than your feet. Also, I would love to se those girls fall butt first on a hard ice after a double lutz and get up and keep in smiling

  • I've done both and I currently do Figure Skating. but I would definately have to say Figure Skating is harder. We hold our legs up aswell whilst spinning on a 1inch width blade on wet ice. if you guys fall you get back up, if we fall we can get major injuries with cuts or just landing weirdly, I fell over doing a jump and landed on my knee and couldn't skate for two weeks. The Ice is ten times harder than the floor for Rhythmic. Jumps are way harder, try rotating 3.5 times in one go!

  • @beyondsection17

well rhythmic gymnastics takes loads of skill because of the use of equipment.

  • figure skating is definately harder. although gymnastics is hard. figure skaters have to deal with blades, edges, HARD SLIPPERY ICE, quad jumps, way longer spins. and if you fall while figuree skating you could possibly cut yourself on your blade. figure skating ias so much harder.

  • i have no bones thats what everyone saids plus ima skater too ;)

  • i love this so mache

  • This montage is clearly biased towards RG. I love both and obviously RG needs an extreme flexibility that doesn't necessarily apply to figure skating. But the skating elements. OMG you've just no idea how hard they all are. If you want to see a skater with that kind of flexibility watch Julia Lipnitskaya of Russia. But all the flexibility in the world doesn't make her a great skater. Her skating basics are actually pretty mediocre and need a lot of work.

  • @gladitsnotme and @debbyryan1393 I tried both and Figure Skating is harder BELIEVE me !!!!!!!!! You should try do some of the easy stuff like splits with one leg in the air at the same time with skating and smiling !! and I know gymnastics use balls and things like that but there are some figure skating competitions that require an 'accessory' to skate with !! Both sports are wonderful !!!! :D

  • I do both (: <3

  • defenetly rythmic gymnastics, firgure skaters do not spot there heads when they turn in there routines plus gymnasts have to use equiment that makes it twice as harder, and rythmic gymnastics has so much more difficulties im a rythmic gymnast and im on level 9 and im only 12 trust me i know!...

  • Great video, but my only thing is, is that you really can't compare the two sports. Because they are drastically different from each other. Neither of them are better, because they have totally different technical skills. I am a figure skater, and it is very hard. But one of my friends is a rhythmic gymnast and that very hard too. So all I'm saying is that the two sports are very difficult to compare, just based on how different they are from each other. But again great video! :)

  • ice skating is way harder by far just coming from personal experience

  • There are a lot of factors about figure skating not covered here:

    1. JUMPS. By far and away the most difficult part of figure skating, that isn't even touched in rhythmic.

    2. SPINS. I know you spin, but we spin for 20-30 rotations sometimes, and at much faster speeds with more changes of position. That's physically demanding.

    3. BLADE. We do everything we do on a blade not even a centimetre thick. Yeah.

I think rhythmic takes more flexibility, but skating takes more strength and skill.

  • @beyondsection17 Ya skating is way harder!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @beyondsection17 JUMPS we have jumps too, not in the same way, but also hard...

SPINS Daria Kondakova, a very excellent Rhythmic gymnast is doing 10 spins on her foot, with changing her position, and caroline weber has also nice tunrs, going up and down and up again while turning ...

BLADE... maybe gymnasts have no blade, but we have hoop ribbon rope clubs & ball and they throw them very high and catch them with their back...

Rhythmic gymnastic needs strength too ...

  • @BaLaylaLerina Yeah it does need strenth but we figure skaters can do what gymnasts do off ice and on ice. and the gymnasts can only do it off ice. figure skater also use balls, hoops, ribbons, and more. so its not harder skating is.

  • @stirrupqueen oh no you are totally wrong, usually i respect the opinion of others, but your soooo wrong >.< I mean there will never be a figure skater throwing a ball metres high and then catch it with their back... you have no clue of rhythmic gymnastics

uhm no they dont use them... maybe for galas, but that looks terrible ...(their performances are more terrible than my english!)

and i never said it would be harder... i said they have nearly the same level

  • They are both very hard.

Rhythmic gymnastics I would imagine to be far more physically demanding, and figure skating to be far more skill demanding.

Take note, I didn't say that that rhythmic gymnastics doesn't need much skill, nor that figure skating doesn't need many physical demands.

I personally think rhythmic gymnastics is just a bit more difficult than skating. Meh.

  • yes the rythmic gymnastics is hard,i did it for 10 years, But figure skaters arevery flexable! prob about 90% of skatersdo office training andtake ballet to buildup there flexability for spirals and spins. It is against therules in skating to do a split on the ice, besides in exibitions, but if it wasnt i bet alot more skaters would be doing that type of flexable work.Figure skating takes A LOT of control and muscle.u need to be able to center a spin and stay on the right edge.harder than u think!

  • if any gymnasts tried to do what we do on ice, they'd fall. and we are flexible. on and off ice. because we do off ice training. and rythmic you jump and walk with a hoop ribbon or ball, and my gymnastic friends tried on the ice and were just the same as everyone who just tried it! so I have to say, skating is that little bit harder!

  • @sammisworld52 if any gymnasts tried to do what we do on ice, they'd fall. and we are flexible. on and off ice. because we do off ice training. and p.s. im not slating gymnastics. im stating the facts.

    pp.s I also like rythmic

  • @garnetmaiden yeah me too, I LOVE rhythmic and I wanna do some of the things that they do to that I can't do, and I admit I can't do some of the things that they do, but they also can't do some of the things ice skaters do so its mostly even, but ice skating is a little harder cuz of the boots and balance needed.

  • RG can be hard and they are more flexible and they do have to have a hula-hoop or a ball, they also have to spin on their bare feet, but ice skaters have to spin on slippery ice with only a blade, figure skating is FAR more dangerous, and the skates give you blisters and have to be broken in. Also, its really hard to stay balanced at times and you must be VERY centered at all times. So I say figure skating is harder, but thats just my opinion.

  • Well, Sasha Cohen (the skater in the video) did both

  • Why is the figure skating pieces basically just Sasha Cohen. It's not like I don't like it because Sasha is my number 1 fan butyou should add more skaters to it.

  • The ones who say RG is much harder don't consider that it has to be done on ice.Because admit it, having that kind of ice security needs years and years of practice, which the gymnastics don't need to do because who can't walk and jump on earth?:)i say every figure skater could do these routines after few months of practice, but it can't be done vica versa. You say ball is the aquipment that makes it harder?I say skates and ice does:-)

    don't hate me for that,cuz i'm a skater,so can't blame me:)

  • Figure skating sure is hard, but take the fact, RG is way harder in many ways.

  • The figure Skater is Sasha Cohen but what is the Rhythmic Gymnast name does anyone know? They don't televise it as much as Figure Skating or even as much as artistic gymnastics. Nice job by both athletes.

  • @debbyryan1393 That's a really good point that's never been brought up before! Turning on bare foot is much more difficult. Thank you for bringing that up! :)

  • @Gina10179202 but bare in mind gym is on a non slippery surface wether figure ice skating is on ice with a thin blade (and very dangerous) and the speed they do the turns and jumps is amazing but thats just my counter argument, for every attack theres counter attack ( i do athletics) I'm not saying gym is easier but I'm not saying skatings easier I mean even athletics is hard just no in the same way more in a technical way

BTW im 12 so any1 reading plz dont be rude if you dont agree

  • @Gina10179202 Actually, you turn wearing a toe shoe (like half a ballet shoe), not barefoot. While I doubt many figure skaters could do those flexibility and body elements, I doubt that any RGs could do a double axel or triple loop. Also, figure skaters have a toe pick to contend with, and they can't move around as freely (in RG you can easily change directions, you can't in FS.)

As someone who is competitive in both RG and Figure Skating, I think they are equally challenging in their own way.

  • @Gina10179202 ummm..... no its not! Spinning on barefoot is super easy. I do it all the time. Spinning on a blde that is less than a quarter of a centimeter on slippery ice a gymnast can't do that!!

  • @debbyryan1393 you obviously haven't seen sasha cohen and if you have you are blind, i think they are just as hard as each other

  • @debbyryan1393 you obviously haven't seen sasha cohen and if you have you are blind, i think they are just as hard as each other i'd like to see them do what she does

  • @debbyryan1393

anything you can do on land is a million times harder on ice, period..

although rhythmic gymnastics does look like it requires more flexibility.

  • @debbyryan1393 im a figure skater, and half of us figure skaters do gymnastics,

gymnasts arnt more flexible then skaters, its both. it depends on how you improve your flexibilty,

Rhythmic gymnastics is the same layout, just different techniques. figure skaters strive & push forward to learn different techniques everyday i would know. point is its both ways figure skating or gynnastics.

  • @debbyryan1393 I disagree with you.Figure Skaters have to go want gymnasts do,but 10x harder.Figure skaters have a blade with 2 edges, toe pick,&are skating on ice.SLIPPERY WET ice. I'd like to see a gymnast go on the ice and try to do what they are doing on the ground.Gymnasts CANT go on the ice & do what figure skaters do;but figure skaters can get off the ice &do what gymnasts do.&Figure skaters have to be equally as fexaible. You should try doing an axel, their even hard on the ground sometimes

  • @ImHurtXxXIceSkater I absolutely agree with you.

  • @loveices me too!

  • @ImHurtXxXIceSkater I totally agree!!!!!

  • @ImHurtXxXIceSkater thats not true!!! I am very defendet by your comment! Because every sport has another difficulty, in ice skating you have to do all things on a blade, but in rhythmic gymnastics you have 5 apparatus (ball, hoop, ribbon, rope & clubs) it really hard to handle them...

So in MY OPINION: No Ice Skater could ever be a professional rhythmic gymnast and No Rhytmic gymnast could ever be a professional ice skater !!!

But If you think RG is easy I hope to see you in London ;)

  • @debbyryan1393 actually same goes to jumping with skates. I'd like to see gymnast try and do triples...and of cours truning on bare foot is harder that's why skaters turn a LOT more than gymnasts. I love both sports im just trying to prove you that you can't decide so easily:)

  • @debbyryan1393

    um,

    excuse me?

i actually can do what gymnasts do so what now? anything that gymnast did, i can do. both sports require flexibity. and also, the maker of this viiddeo didnt even include a russian split jump sooo....

    yeah.

and also, gymnasts at least have the mat so if they fall they dont get to banged up (granted they do get hurt) but figure skaters fall on the ice. with blades.

    you sound dumb now.

    your point is invalid.

  • @debbyryan1393 yes but figure skaters do it on a thin blade on slippery ice

  • @debbyryan1393 just do turns on ice? u have no idea how hard it is because u probably never done it!! U balance on like about 1 in. blade and u have no idea how hard it is!! figure skating also includes jumps. i would like to see u try to attempt to do a lay back or even a scratch spin and fall on the first rotation!! u also need flexibility for beilmanns and stuff like tht. And i bet u cant even do a axel on ice or off ice!! And u have no idea how much muscles skaters need for landing jumps.

  • @debbyryan1393 Well yes, that's a good point... But skaters do all these things on a very tiny blade and they have to keep their balance on it

  • @debbyryan1393 I'd like to see rithmic gymnasts try to do a triple axel on thin blades. Although i have to say I agree about the turns on bare foot are more difficult. And about flexibility... maybe you haven't seen Sasha Cohen ;)

  • @debbyryan1393

    two words.. sasha cohen.

and anything you can do on your feet is ten times harder on ice.

  • who are the rhythmic gymnasts?

  • RG has equipment, but figure skaters are on BLADES!! im a figure skater, but i am not saying RG is easier at all. I have great respect for the sport, but im just saying at least they are on their feet. and trust me, there are MANY details to skating too. a spin or jump won't count even it if is 1/5 of a turn cheated. they are both precise and extremely difficult.oh and in addition, all of RG's flexibility elements are only held for a second. Spirals have to be held for 6 seconds per position

  • ok so RG has equipment to manage, but figure skaters are on knives!! i'm a figure skater, but i am not saying RG is easier at all. I have great respect for the sport, but i'm just saying at least they are on their feet. and trust me, there are MANY little details to skating too. a spin or jump won't count even it if is 1/5 of a turn cheated. they are both precise and extremely difficult.

  • in your figure skating side is mostly Sasha Cohen

  • i think rhythmic gymnastics is harder there is more flexebility and all the equipments

  • Actually u can pull a muscle by figure skating i have i did it over the summer ice skating is everything rb is but on ice and not with a ball but sometimes props i know

  • @Litly654 ice skating is not everything rhythmic gymnastics is. there r so many things in rhythmic gymnastics that figure skaters dont do

  • RG (ball) is harder in my opinion because you have to do almost all of the things figure skaters do, PLUS manage that damn ball. If figure skaters had to spin and catch a ball simultaneously, it'd be a lot harder. They are both hard though, and much respect to anyone who does either! :)

  • @gladitsnotme The other day I stood in my bedroom, held a basketball behind my back, then tried to throw it over my head and catch it in front of me. I must have tried 20 times and only succeeded ONCE. And I wasn't even on the ice or spinning! So I agree, managing another piece of equipment makes RG extremely difficult. :P

  • @gladitsnotme Yea but holding teh edges on Ice and do all those double & trippel Jumps aren't easier just because there's no equipment :p

    just saying .

Wich doesnt mean that RG are easier. both are hard ones thats the point.

  • @gladitsnotme If rithmic gymnasts had to do a triple jump in their programs it'd be a lot harder. I have seen some figure skaters skating with a ribbon but yet i have never seen a rithmic gymnast doing a triple jump. I agree they're both very hard :)

  • @gladitsnotme I do figure skating and it's hard beacuse, you have to spin and jump on a blade that is skinnier than a quarter of a centimeter plus, figure skaters sometimes ahve to use hoops and stuff so, figure skating is harder.

  • omg are you joking!! ice skating is much harder!! i do both and trust me ice skating is soo much harder! =/

normal gymnastics is hard i suppose but rhythmic gymnastics is much easier! ther is no doubt in my mind tht ice skating is much harder!!

  • People think RG requires more strength, but thats actually not true. Skating is hard cuz it requires SO much strength for everything. Double jumps need a lot of strength in your legs and perfect timing. You need to have great balance and good centering for spins. You need to have a certain grace too. Who ever said figure skating doesn't hurt when you mess up and fall? Have you ever fallen in a layback position? It hurts soo much! RG is amazing, but i personally think skating is very artistic.

  • Okay, i swear some of those girls in gymnastics don't have bones in their back! Gosh! did you see at the end when that girl just pulls her leg over head? I think i died a little inside when i saw that.

    Definitely figure skating, go Sasha!

  • Comment removed

  • a lot of the figure skating videos you chose doesn't really do figure skating any justice. although rhythmic gymnastics looks hard because of all the flexibility required.

  • Can anyone tell me how you get the actually video clip of the ice skaters or gymnasts onto your Laptop/Compute? i have no clue how to do it! but i would like to make a video like this, so i just need to know how you get the videos for yoursel to use! thaaaanks :D:D:D and btw i think both are REALLy hard and have ALOT of training and i do do both! but i prefer figure skating now :D:D:D <333333333333

  • @TheRedNinjaaa Okay first:

    1. find a video on YouTube that you want

    2. Open another session and go to Savevid.com(don't worry it's totally safe, just don't click on the adds)

    3. Copy and paste the YouTube video URL into savevid.com and download, i usually pick Normal Quality(High quality takes a lot of space and takes forever to convert)

    --->

  • @TheRedNinjaaa I'm just going to send the rest of the instructions to you in your mail because it's too long.

  • Figure skating All the way

but dont hate on gymnastics it is also VERY VERY hard as is Figure skating, i would have loved to be put in both but my family couldnt afford that sop i chose Figure skating and it is fun!! i suggest it to any and everyone

  • RSG! best ever!

  • Ice Skating is better<333

    I loove Icee Skatiing<33

  • my vote is for figure skating!!!

  • @gymnasticslova725 It's just a montage, relax! Maybe she couldn't get recent videos of rythmic? Does it make a difference? Both sports take loads of dedication! And people aren't constantly comparing sports.

Nicely done Gina!!! It looks amazing (Even though it's so old :P)

  • ...are you sure thats a gymnast and not an annorexic contortionist??

  • @1inamillionx99 so if you do both sports why do offensive comparations

  • haha, i do both and to be honest skating is easier :)

  • Comment removed

  • omg, figure skater need so much flexibility! have you even been doing figure skating ?

  • Okay skater hater type person. Please go on ice, and do a backflips with knives on you feet in a skimpy little dress. Yes some skater can. If it's as simple as you say, record it and put it on YouTube! Haha I'd looove to see u try

  • I do rhythmic gymnastics, but I also like ice skating. Both are hard, but I thinh rg is def. harder. As lareinedufoot1090 said, you need a lot more flexibility and coordination to do rg...

  • @TheLittleGymnast96 YAH totally!!!!

  • @TheLittleGymnast96 For figure skating you not only need flexibility, and coordination, you need strength, the right timing, balance, and to be fearless. Id like to see you throw your self atleast up a foot into the air, and land on your toe pick, on a little blade. Plus if you fall in RG you wont get that hurt, at figure skating it KILLS!

  • @Nickmyboyfriendjonas Firstly learn to read.........Second, just because you can't do it doesn't mean that I can't. And don't even try to tell me that RG doesn't take as much flexibility or coordination. Finally, don't you have anything better to do than to reply to everyone with a different opinion? *I know I'm not losing sleep over it !:P

  • @lareinedufoot1090 Hah, funny. First of all I'm a figure skater been in it since i was four, so yea i can land the jumps, but every figure skater knows what its like to fall. Also i was in RG when for four years but i quit to focus mainly on skating :) And Lastly too bad i already did tell you that figure skating takes more flexibility, and especially strength and coordination so deal with it.

  • @Nickmyboyfriendjonas

I agree figure skating is harder.

  • Between the two, rhythmic gymnastics is so much better. It's harder and it requires MUCH more flexibilty and coordination like the throwing of the apparatus? I don't even know how you can say ice skating is harder..........

  • @lareinedufoot1090 you think figure skating not hard? have u ever given it a go? jumped, spined or anthing, not only in rhythmic gymnastics but figure skating to you need coordination for anything to work, also yes anyone can ice skate as well as anyone can learn to throw a ball and roll, so i believe the are equal in hardness and don't make judgements like that because i would love to see you do a double axel....

  • @TiNa2927 I don't think you even read what I wrote.........I never said ice skating wasn't hard but rhythmic gymnastics is definitely harder. There's so much more flexibility (which usually takes years to develop) and hand-eye coordination. Anyone can do a double axel if they want to and they try hard enough. I could also challenge you to do a lot of things but that would be immature and sort of a waste of time wouldn't it?.........

  • @lareinedufoot1090 I don't want to get involved because I'm totally neutral and I think both sports are equally hard, but I do have to tell you that not ANYONE can land a double axel if they try hard enough. Only 2% of figures skaters will ever land a double axel, and even fewer land jumps harder than that.

  • @Gina10179202 Obviously it takes practice and if you do and you put your mind to it I'm sure you can. You don't have to be a god to do it. But that's my optimistic opinion.

  • @lareinedufoot1090 I admire your optimism, and I wish I was that positive every time I attempted a double axel. :)

  • @Gina10179202 Just keep trying. It's definitely possible. :D

  • Comment removed

  • @em4ety1 I'm just rolling my eyes because you don't seem to understand anything that I wrote.........

  • @lareinedufoot1090 Well after that apinion i would like to see you doing the "easy" stuff from fs! I mean double axel triple toe loop and other easy thinks! May be for some one like me they are easy i mean i've done ice skating practicly all my life since i was tree! Yeah for me it is really easy but now when i know a lot of things but since the last year every double spin was a nighmare! And to be talanted is not enaugh belive me!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @lareinedufoot1090 Do you watch skating? Did you ever figure skate? Did you ever fall when your almost a foot and a half into the air landing on your hip, ass, or whatever. Then having to get up and do the rest of you're routine.. no. Don't judge skating! Tell me RG is harder when you can land at least ONE double jump!

  • @lareinedufoot1090 Ice skaters jump off a slippery surface, spin in the air and land on a slippery surface everytime they land wrong they hit on solid ice, have you fallen on ice it's much worse than falling on a matt. It requires timing to do the jumps and the spins. Throwing a ball someone threw a ball clear across a basketball court and got it through a hoop, she threw it a much shorter distance. Not trying to knock her both are very difficult sports takes years of training to be really good.

  • i do both of these sports soo :/ hard choise :)

  • No question, figure skating is definetly wayyy better. thumbs up if you agree!

  • I prefer figure skating- more difficult and more artistic according to me :)

  • @figureskatingmont i no i think it is really hard aswell because one u can get hurt and it does look more gracefull :)

  • FIGURE SKATING !!!

  • figure skating o.o

  • Rhythmic Baby!

  • Rhythmic Gymnastics<3

  • Rhythmic Gymnastics<3

  • Comment removed

  • i do both so i cant judge!

  • Figure skating <3

  • O.K i do both RG and figure skating, they r both hard sports, but graceful. in my opinion figure skating for me is a bit more fun then RG, but RG is still a great sport

  • FIGURE SKATING!!! <3

  • I choose RG but I still have MAD respect for skaters.

  • RG is actually much harder - the flexibility, cordination, concentration.

When gymnasts spin (pivot, pirrouette) they need strength to hold the balances and foot flexibility to spin on a high relave, arch, etc. Whereas in figr skating, the ice helps you to spin and all you do is hold the move. We need a LOT of flexiblity and a shit load of strength to even be able to do half the moves, whereas in figure skating flexibility is on a lower level. Anyways, both sports are hard and graceful.

  • @CherryBlossom173 Ice is slippery and spins have to be centered. You know how much strength it takes to keep yourself from moving all over the place while changing positions; layback to sideway layback, to a biellmann, change of edge camels and what not? Just holding the move is a HUGE understatement. Not to mention all the other elements such as jumps, footwork, spiral sequences, transitions, etc. I'm not saying it's harder, but your comment tells me you know little about figure skating.

  • Comment removed

  • @CherryBlossom173 Oh yes, the magic ice pushes us so we can spin thats it. Are you stupid? You know NOTHING about figure skating. I cant even argue about you all the crazy things we need to do to be able to do the moves that we do!

  • @CherryBlossom173 i agree with you mostly however the ice goes against you in spinning haha. i think a deathdrop spin on ice is much harder than a quad pirrouette. but RG does need more flexibility. but more strength is needed for skaters. double jumps just drain energy and landing them sends shockwaves through the body. its exhausting. and every step we take we are pulling and pushing to cut the solid ice. but to be honest, i probly wouldn't be able to do RG for my life :P

  • definetely figure skating

the video was really good but gymnastics is really good aswell

  • definetely figure skating

    the video was really good

  • i oove verrrrrrry much this video and i wath it every day :))))

  • verry beautiful video!!!! :)

  • rhythmic gymnastic..!!!!4everr..!!

  • obvs im gonna say figure skating cause im a skater ,

but must we really compare sports ? like come on , theyre both beautiful sports and bot have theire positives and negatives , like come on people !

  • I thing that this video is not just. This girls of Rhythmic Gymnastics aren't professionals...

  • Figure skating of course *-*

  • Figure Skating All the way!! :D Cuz its way harder to do that while balancing on figure skates MY FAV SPORT!!

love the video by the way :P

  • they're both beautiful and difficult in their own way. i did both in high training, the only thing is that less people are able to do RG because some girls are naturally more flexible, not because its harder as some of you say.

    my two favorite sports! :D

  • i think figure skating is more graceful

  • skating all the way!

  • Figure skating all the way :D

    Nothing can beat it.

  • @Kokgy

I do biellmans office all the time... :/

  • fiqure skating with sasha cohen!!!

  • FIGURE SKATING! both sports are equally hard but in skating you have to concentrade more on speed and technique. And there can be more tricks on skating that just spins, loops, jumps, etc. It just wasn't shown on this video(:

  • Figure skating is better!!!!!!!

  • i <3 figure skatin but as a gymnast....RG ALL THE WAY!

  • i think rhythmic gymnastics should win because you can easly fall on ice and you can't do aa lot of tricks on ice but you can show a lot of things on the ground like : a chest stand and front lembers and back lembers.

  • Woow I like It!!!!!!!

    RG is my love =)

  • To those who said that RG is easy. Have you ever seen any figure skater doing bielmann spin off ice? Or have you ever seen any figure skater catch ball with their back? Both RG and FS are beautiful difficult sport;there on need to devalue one to praise another.

  • well im a figure skater soo i would pick figure skating but they are both hard and unique sports........both u need to work hard.........and be flexable...................
