This IS a live recording. Compare it to thealbum/single track. At 0:11 ("tem-PER") you can hear that she gets too close to the mic.

I believe TOTPs did sometimes have live acts - but in the old days. This recording would have been 1978, I think.

This version is a bit better than the 'black dress' version she did for totp a few weeks previously. The 'black dress' version was her first tv appearance and apparently when she watched it she hated it and said "it was like watching myself die - a bloody awful performance''!

It wasn't that bad, but I think this version has more emotion and its great that the piano part is played up here.

This is her best effort at this song and completely surpasses any of her WH videos. Here, with only her facial expressions, she masterfully conveys the aggressive haunting poltergeist who stalks "her one dream, her only Master" with wildly seductive and reproachful haunting. The camera angles were well thought out with the fade away showing her in profile at the piano and you look at it and you think, wow, "ghost". I will always be haunted by this powerful seductive and eerie performance.

Remember the first time I heard this - I was at a Student's Union bar and it came blaring out of the speakers I was gob-smacked I couldn't believe her voice - awesome!!! Timeless!! I can see why people draw comparisons between her and Tori Amos (I love her too!) both have a very unusual range in their voices, plus I think they are both theatrical performers not just vocalists.
