  • Yes, it is a slow journey. It is really a tourist attraction which is a useful benefit to walkers who look for point to point walks.

The carriages made locally are very much in keeping. However, the creature comforts of say the Glacier Express would be a welcome addition.

  • It must be no faster than 20mph in real life.

In order to really be a feasible alternative to the road, speeds of at least what we are seeing on this video would have to be attained on services intended for public transport use and not simply a day out.

Considering the gauge of the track the carriages are very generous in interior space - 2+1 seating with an aisle - therefore more modern carriages could be built with things such as air conditioning, power doors, wi-fi. Take a look at the Swiss

  • Thank you. Yes, it is wonderful scenery. It was gorgeous weather that day showing that lovely part of Snowdonia at its summer best. Like South Island NZ, its not always like that! I hope you get the chance to ride the Welsh Highland before long.

  • Thank you. It was done at double speed to get it to fit within 1 gig. The MP4 version looked awful. Some advice would be welcome and I would be pleased to upload another version in real time with sound and no music.

  • nice video, would it be possible to have it at normal speed with sound?

  • A gorgeous day you had there J.

Thanks for the ride, I enjoyed it very much, some lovely views.

    John.

  • You are kind. It's a bit joggly as I forgot to switch on the ois. The weather of course was absolutely fabulous.
