If I recall, etho got the idea from docm77 in the first place. So yeah, it's just a chain with no real beginning. Not that it matters if I say this a week after everyone else had their say (dang you falling behind!).

Also, the people don't realize you're getting free /sticky/ pistons with this. Meaning that pushing glowstone just got a lot more tedious since you have to break the piston to push the row another block down. :P

Yes, please. I'll be going straight for the pistons and modulating the enchanting with torches. Was just extracting the pistons from the mob bombers in Infernal Sky II's Grand Armada today. A much more instructive Etho video than the enchanting station was his recent use of pistons to push glowstone into the nasty parts of Fluffy Bunnies of Joy...

what i would say about the etho thing is this, you are very fast to critisise vechs for apparently stealing a design however he is very willing to offer his designs to the community in the form of the CTM tool kit for example. he doesnt mind people using his stuff in their own maps which i am sure not all of them will credit him when they release their maps.

A trick to speed up enchanting is to put your weapon on the table, then pick up a stick and click it on top of the weapon. That will refresh the enchantments with only one click. With the new enchanting algorithm in 1.1, you can usually get a level 50 within a couple minutes of clicking. It's still a dumb system though.

Having a 1:1 distribution for your levers is inefficent, since with 1:2 you could have 4 settings (better fine tuning) with two levers instead of only 3 settings (for instance make the walls go back, instead of the rows go up).

If I have only 1 table and I want to make level 1 enchants, I just take the table out of the library with a pick.

I made one of these but I made the front wall of book shelves to be controled by a pressure pad next to the enchanting table. That way you can squeese in the last two book shelves that your design uses for a doorway.
