@seektheforce @seektheforce She is using her voice(s) to convey emotion through the music. It is not to be taken as if it were a personal experience of hers. Listen to the beauty and forget about the male/female POV. I personally like when the original POV is left intact. The singer takes on that of a storyteller as opposed to first person. Women do this, men don't. I guess it's less sexually complicated for a woman to simply story-tell than it is for a man.

Due to societal constraints, a man is much more concerned with whether he is viewed as homosexual; therefore he would definitely rearrange the words of a piece like Un Bel Di, which was originally written for a woman. Women don't have to do that. A woman can sing Nessun Dorma as is and simply be a storyteller. As far as 'sexist', you asked whether she was lesbian. Again try to appreciate the beauty of it and not so much the correctness of it .

I wish more arias recieved this kind of video treatment...but the backup singers are beyond lame. This also sounds totally wrong. It's way too serene..."cielo, si puo morir" means "heavens, if i die". Listen to a tenor sing it and you will see what I mean.

there are no back-up singers, it's her voice, but delayed. that effect is used too much in this here, in my opinion.. but beautiful video and her voice is wonderful.

This arrangement and production is bloated, their values serving only the carriage of the voice - and NOT the music, as is artistically correct. Example: overdubbed vocal harmonies?

Perhaps 'Izzy' should become a popstar. Opera is not her bag. All respect due.

Donizetti would roll over in his grave if he knew this was being done to his composition. Tranzenic was completely right in comparing this to Sarah Brightman (and that is not a good thing). Izzy does have talent, but she is not fit for the opera world, especially when singing an aria composed for a tenor. Geez, the aria is about the tenor realizing that the girl he loves from afar shed a tear for him! Unless Izzy is in fact a man, she should not sing this. Izzy, good luck in your endeavors.
