Just bought one, its all sorts of amazing. I have used the old ones for years and they are great too, but if you can do the new one do it and you wont be sorry. Fires as fast as you can go with minimal recoil.
It's a nice peice of work and would like to up grade all ours this last winter was a night mare with em we had to keep the gas on our pockets . But is it just in robbing Britton that they are takin the piss the nails are a lot more expensive the unit is costing upwards of £600 and if you want the extended magazine that is another £60 or is it just the merchants takin us for a ride as norm .
Thanks for the comments. The fuel injection allows for consistent firing in cold weather without having to double pump or anything like that. Also, the new IM90i is meant to be used as a full-time framing tool. Less setup time and no tangled hoses.
The only advantage I can see with it is that its supposed to have better cold weather performance which can be a problem with the older guns, just double pressing the gun to give it more gas in its chamber sorts that out and as I don't buy the nails (or gas) anyway I don't care if I use too much gas sometimes.
So, all the old gas cartridges for the older (and far more common) Paslode first fix guns wont work with it?
Means that any subcontractor won't be able to use the nails usually stored in the site container and will always have to bring their own.
Since buying my older version I have never had to buy any nails at all as they are always supplied on site, bit of an own goal from Paslode I would have said.
Hi demographic001. From your comments it sounds like you have''t got the new nail or haven't used one . I haven't either. But having got 2 of the 'old ones' the IM 350 I know that they are a problem to use in cold and hot weather. In Cold they need 2 pumps to fire the nail and in hot weather they fire but no nail comes out. As for the comment about the nails being supplied, why would the older version nails be supplied on site and not the newer ones. Bet your a bit of a tight arse
Oh my frickin god!!!! That thing is seriously awesome! How far do the nails fire? Would it be possible to hit a target say the size of a melon from about 20 feet?

Alot more advantages to the old im350.
* fuel injection system, allows to work in minus Temps
* Removable Magazine, so you can clear jams Quicker.
* cheaper gas and nails (different to IM350)
* Depth adjuster is easily adjusted, just twist the front (no keys or lifting the nose)
* Orange light indicates it needs a clean
* Easier to load nails.
