  • Amazing. Its very difficult to land there

  • WOW!!!!!!!

  • ive been there the piolets are better than that

  • Amazing

  • hey everybody i landed a 1080 with the biggest plane ever on that airport

  • when a flight attendant sucks your cock, you can do anything

  • congrats to the pilot

  • flight attendant : can i get you anything

Me : some new pants would be nice

  • Look at all that residential real estate! Location, location, location...

  • damn, some real birdbrains in that cockpit! ;-) =D

  • I'm assuming pilots would fly a faster air speed in strong head wind of say 40 knots to compensate for the slower ground speed or i suppose you could use a shallower rate of descent but then that would increase appraoch time. If youre landing speed was 140 knots and you had a 40 knot head wind would the pilot most likely fly the approach at for example 170 knots to compensate for the grounspeed. Would the pilot not want to land with a grounspeed of 100 knots. 40 knot headwinds r rare

  • @210482fmj I dont really know but it would seem dangerous to land with a lower ground speed because of head wind. Because if the head wind were to stop the plane would loose lift and drop. So I would think ground speed should remain the same? I dont know... thats just my reasoning.

  • Wah...Aiya....!

  • Wah!

  • I'm not a pilot is there a different way he could of taken that approach?

  • This is very nostalgic for us Hongkongers. If it wasn't for this airport, our city wouldn't become what it now is. Thank you Kai Tak!

  • That was Chuck Norris landing that beast

  • If I was in tht airplane I would've been like oo look there is the rwy aaah! Oh must be another rwy..

  • LIKE A BOSS

  • German woman's comment in the end: "Wie gut, dass man das im Flugzeug nicht mitkriegt, der hat ja voll verrissen, ne?" ("How good that you don't notice that when you're actually INSIDE the plane, he totally panned it, didn't he?") xD

  • Wah!!

  • Good god, that was RISKY. One hell of a sharp turn. I would have pulled up and gone back around.

  • This plane can crosswind since the wheels can adjust to match the runway XD

  • hahah aha ha hah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa besrtvedio

  • The Fast And The Furous - Airport Drift

  • 366 people cannot understand the unbelievable perfection of this landing...

  • how stupid. the woman who talks when the 747 lands says: how good that you don't notice all that when you're inside. the pilot must have totally snatched.

    two words.... Kitchen.

  • Damn, the pilot's got swagger.

  • That is...amazing!!!

  • What an approach. Gosh.

  • hatta voll verrissen hi hi

  • The weight of the pilots balls finally got them down

  • Did this yesterday in a 172 at KERI lol.

  • he lands it like a fucking boss!

  • thats why pilots get so much paid for their job...

  • @snicker292 Sadly, that's not the truth... at least not in western countries. Maybe Asian Airlines do take care well of their pilots.

  • @franciscojavierm Then im wrong... But captains get paid well for ther jobs not co-pilots i think.

  • @snicker292 They both earn decent salaries, but they don't earn as much as people think. You can be rich and be a pilot, but you won't get rich becoming one.

  • @franciscojavierm They got over 10.000€ per month so its pretty much <<<--- Captains

  • @snicker292 brb becoming a pilot

  • When they originally built that, why did they think it was a good idea? I'd be so scared to fly into Kai Tak

  • que susto, que tuve, fui en ese avion en el asiento 42C pense que nos matabamos, diossss que susto!!!

  • They even drift Japanese planes now.

  • left,left,......left.left,left,left....left,left,left,left

  • there were germans you can hear them at the end :3

  • SO much skill

  • That, ladies and gentlemen, is why airlines pay pilots a great whopping wad of cash.

  • @davri They don't. Pilots are woefully underpaid, just like pretty much everyone who works on an airplane. Only executives make a ton.

  • das deutsche gelaber am ende :D

  • He had Balls!!!

  • mUCHHH respect the the pilot

  • Just to clarify, the approach is good, but as he lines up the plane with the centerline, he keeps getting blown to the left (most likely due to not having enough aileron into the wind), thus he applies heavy right rudder to keep him from being blown of the runway, and touches down in a way that puts alot of sideloading on the main gear. Nice save, and I have no idea if it's better to put this load on the gear or go around in such a big plane, but it is not the correct way to touch down.

  • @TheGreenGriffon the boeing 747 is 500 ton....anyway the pilot is a pro

  • what a great pilot!

  • Thank God, I thought he was going to fly into the tower !!!

  • son of a b*t*h.. that's one pilot from hell. awesome!!!!

  • Jesus Christ!, those pilots earn their money!

  • that is one hell of a pilot

  • Landing level 99

  • like a boss

  • what a mo-foin beast

  • Why cant more airports be like this??

  • At 1:03 or 1:04 I heard the guy say "crash land" lol

  • passengers: HOLY SHIT ARE WE LANDING SIDEWAYS!!!

pilot: attention all passengers this is your pilot speaking. we just did a kickass drift so do not be alarmed(hand slaps co-pilots hand)

  • bless that top comment lol

  • ANOTHER DRUNK PILOT

  • That's why he flies 747's.

  • it looks so big and slow

  • Germany :D

  • Damn that's gonna put a lot of stress on the landing gear. You're supposed apply heavy rudder to line up the plane with the centerline before touchdown to avoid the sideway loading on the gear (ailerons into the wind, rudder towards the centerline), but yeah it's not always easy with that much crosswind.

  • @apox555 He's the captain of a 747. I'm sure he knows what to do better than you do.

  • @TheGreenGriffon That doesn't mean he can't have a bad landing. Crosswind can be really tricky. And ofcourse he knows what to do better than me, I'm only a commercial pilot, not ATPL, but it doesn't take away the fact that you're supposed to line up the nose with the centerline before touchdown, to avoid sideway loading on the gear. If possible ofcourse, it's better to put stress on the gear than to risk the lives of the passengers.

  • @apox555 Even a student pilot is trained on how to properly execute a crosswind landing. A 747 captain knows what to do and how to do it. I'd like to see you try executing a crosswind landing in a 145-ton airliner at what was once the most dangerous airport approach on the entire planet. Until you do, stop criticizing.

I love how every commenter on YouTube is the world's greatest armchair pilot.

  • @TheGreenGriffon and I love how every commenter on Youtube has to argue. I could quote the textbook to show you what I am saying is the right procedure, but you would just keep arguing. Captains have also crashed the 747 so even though they are all professionals, mishaps can happen. If I landed sideways in the plane I fly due to a windshear, shattering a couple of the bolts that holds the gear to the fuselage, would that be OK "cause I know what I am doing"? But like you said, this is youtube.

  • @apox555 he did but got blown by the wind cause it to get sideways again

  • The captain of that areoplane is a genious

  • My God, this pilot deserves an award!!!

  • Keiichi Tsuchiya must be the pilot!

  • rike a boss

  • the houses are built by the rwy

  • @DJPinoo No, the runway was built by the houses....... ^_^

  • @ColeFried81 yeah, what you want....

  • must have shit his pants

  • Perfect Landing. I have only done this once in a twin-engine Cessna 320!

  • @TheTrebbieFan dont compare a cessna 320 to a boeing bro, they are totally different, one is huge the other is small

  • Nice landing

  • ina mi nana mi ena ena dani kana !!

  • so after being kicked out of tokyo DK became a pilot.

  • OMG I thought it was gonna hit the tree.

  • very nice

  • Freaky But kl

  • I love aviation

  • in soviet russia wind cross you!

  • 0:53 *Passengers on the left side that look out the window* OH NO ! WE'RE GONNA DIE ! WE'RE LANDING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY !

    1:04 OH ! No we're not !

  • That man deserves a drink!!!

  • Somebodys had a few too many, dont you think?

  • wow...too cool

  • My dad's a 747/757/767 pilot for AA (yes I know they just filed BK, they won't see results from that for about 18 months), previous USAF flight instructor, cargo plane pilot, etc. He's made a lot of insane landings himself, I'll have to show him this one.

  • i bet those Pilots never thought that their landing will be watched over 10 million times....

  • in germany we drift beer.

  • Now that is SKILL!

  • I love airplaens!

  • wahh!!

  • In Turkey we drift donkeys :)

  • @DarkBladeX001lololololol :D

  • good camera work

  • In Hong Kong, we drift cars. In Tokyo, we drift planes. >:D

  • @XxXtOxIcSnIpErZXxX That landing is in Hong Kong you tool...so what you said makes no sense.

  • @scbonduk Yeah sorry, I ment the other way around.

  • God damn!!!

  • Wow!

  • .....非常に巧妙なパイロット

  • Did any jet ever skid off the runway in inclement weather? It looks like it would unfortunately be so easy to do.

  • "whaa!"

  • Need For Air Hong Kong Kai Tak Drift!

  • Nice

  • people say that this scares them out of flying and I'm like "yeah cause pilots aren't trained how to do stuff like this at all! the wind is always going to be going perfectly parallel to the runway."

Agreed these are amazing people who deserve a raise for what they do, but please remember that this is what they do stop being amazed that they know how to do it!

  • God damn Asians have to drift everything.

  • @AtlRacerBoyz Don't get it. Please explain?

  • @rockeruss555 hes talking about how the Japanese are rather famous for drifting there cars. look up Tokyo drift if your still unsure.

  • @AtlRacerBoyz Yeah, And after all the criticism.. The Asian drivers are like.. "And wut?"

  • this landing was aweful all those people, shook everyone inside the aircraft,,,, I thought he'd landing at water,,,

  • hehe wohne in leipzig

  • That takes MAJOR skill. Glad I'm not doing that. And I've tried on FSX.

  • hiya meine brüste wachsen

  • cool nothing is too crazy

  • pilots are underpaid

  • irgendwer spricht da deutsch LOL

  • He was drifting''

  • This is how you do it!!!

  • Asians cant do anything right...

  • @Anonymous5894 :That's how you should land with heavy wind dumbass

  • @Anonymous5894 this guy is a retard

  • @Anonymous5894 Oh yes they can. ;) I'm not asian, btw, but the can. They did, right in this video.

  • drifting with an airplane cool

  • 747 drift racing ...:|

  • So from the moment it touchdown to when it stops is only 4 planes length's worth of distance? How o_o

  • @HeavensValkyrie

Reverse thrust, full flaps, spoilers and probably a pretty slow speed on final :P

  • ...AZNs CAN PRETTY MUCH DRIFT EVERYTHING, EHH?? =D

  • It must have sucked for every pilot to fly to hong kong back in the days. Good thing they tore down kai tak and made a new airport somewhere where they won't have to turn just to land.

  • come on..pilot is a hero..

  • Dont know why but ken block was one of the pilots.

  • I was on this flight!! OMG

  • Did it di.... nevermind ;P Great pilot skills... respect! :)
