@Playstation3Gamer10 No troll here, little man, but if the stupidity I replied to before is typical of what you write, my guess is you draw a lot of unkind replies. Here's a tip, skippy, learn what the hell you're talking about before writing something on the subject. Or else stick to Justin Beiber and the rest from your ridiculous generation. You know nothing of the 1950's or 1950's music.
@evelynbocca - YEAH!, Ford was in the 1950's style movie "American Graffiti". (The movie was made in 1970's, but I just Netflix'ed it couple of weeks ago with someone who actually GREW UP in the late 1950's, & they said the movie was Very Accurate to the "spirit" as well as "look" of the era, basically what everyone did every Saturday night, cruising around in their cars with friends, getting into trouble...)
please lord, take justin and lady haha, sorry gaga and bring us back big bopper, buddy holly and Ritchie valens. We need good music so bad in this dark times.
A couple of years ago it was rumored (?) that gunshots were fired in the plane that took down The Bopper, Richie and Buddy ~ so J.P.'s son (Jr.) actually had the body exhumed & checked by a forensic specialist who said there were no bullet holes BUT every bone in his body was broken.
True Romance uses this song right before the Big Bad Siicilian Scene with "The Walk" Christopher Walken and the deceased Dennis Hopper. Awesome Song, Awesome Scene, AWesome Film.

Whenever they talk about the whole "day the music died", they give all the credit to Holly and Valens. I feel bad for this guy who doesn't get the equal shine. Not disrespect to Holly and Valens. Just curious of why no one talks of THIS guy.
Somehow I could see this guy as charismatic preacher if he weren't a singer. It's just how he kinda sings and talks at the same time with that accent. Does anyone else think so?
@Playstation3Gamer10 yay another i thought i was the only teenager stuck in the 50's im 16 sadly i dont get to drive any of the great cars in american graffiti my fav is steve (opie)'s 58 impala
This was my Dads most played song on his PC when he died. It was the song played at the end of his funeral service as we all left the service on 6th Jan 2011... he always did have a wicked sense of humour! Love and miss you Dad xxx
@Cmc763 some sorta asshat eh? he obviously dont realize, that without hep kats like the big bopper, ROCK AND ROLL WOULD HAVE NEVER EXSISTED. we'd be listening to hot swing music without this mans influence! narrow minded, short sighted, unoriginal sack of cattle crap!
I remember that night ... coming back from a Town Team basketball tournament in Colorado, the news came over the car radio ... my buddy said "well - if it had to be somebody, good it was them" ... I wanted to push him out of the car ... what do you do when legends die???
Everybody should know if you are a rock or pop star stay out of privately owned little ass planes. But they still get in them. Sorry Aaliyah. RIP. "Besides stars don't fall out the skies" That was what Buddy was supposed to have said as the plane was taking off.(But how would we know if he said that if everyon was killed on boards). Just trippin y'all.
@17mark1717 Well Waylon Jennings also said "Well, hell, I hope your old plane crashes" to Buddy Holly when Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper refused to ride a bus that kept freezing.
February 3, 2010. Fifty one years since the music died. RIP JP(BIG BOPPER) RICHARDSON, Buddy, and Ritchie. Half a century and year. Hard to believe its been that long.
The most wonderful singers in the 50s and 60s were white and black. Those of us who were white went by how good the songs were, not if the singer was black or white.
@allenshepard hey now it was practically blind flying and do you know how hard it is to fly on instruments only? verry very hard even for the most veteran pilots
