okay back to reality, backing a car into a parallel spot is extreamly easy and its almost always into pre sized stals, people just don't know how to drive and are lazy... the s60 is not even a large vehical, i look at options like back up sencors and laugh my head off when there on the small S40 come on people its a tiny car get to no your car so you know how long the hood and tail are so you don't have to trust a computer becuse they do malfunction

After parking a 10 year old V70XC (with parking sensors) many times, it hasn't malfunctioned for me. I have never heard of any lack of accuracy of parking sensors.

on a larger vehicle i can see it i had a 240 wagon, never had a problem. unless FWD is making it harder for people to park

not sure how drivetrain affects parking...

the V70XC is AWD, by the way

FWD cars have slightly less of a turning radious then RWD AWD for volvo means FWD unless the computer desides that it needs to power a rear wheel to maintain traction... but most of there new cars are just FWD unless you buy AWD extra(yes with exeption to the XC models).

Well..it's not completely FWD normally - the ratio is 95-5. I believe that the new V70 T6 models are standard AWD.

people should just take their cars out more for practice instead of rushing into driving they forget to learn the essentials like parallel parking. Most people dont even know how to size their cars, let alone park them. Lazy people, sipping some coffee while my car parks itself. Lame

PS. I'll be damned if i need to pay for someones scratched bumper if the "system" accidentally hits someone else's car. Hey its designed to park the car, but it can happen.
