Schade, dass ich nicht dabei war.
Leider ist der Chor am Anfang nicht gut auf die Wucht des Werkes eingestellt. Der Tenor und Sopran überschlägt sich erstmal... ärgerlich. Danach sind sie dann eingesungen ;o)
Hingegen sind die Solisten. die Staatskapelle und Maestro Thielemann über jedes Urteil erhaben :o)
Achso... kann mir mal jemand erklären, warum deutsch lateinisch aussprechen?

Great performance. It has the energy and drive that Beethoven demands .I've always
preferred the Von Karajan recording from the early 1960's with Fritz Wunderlich, but this is right up there.
