If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.

I don't think she can help that. I think she just has thin hair. My mom and a friend I know have VERY thin hair, which I will admit looks thinner when they straighten it, but not matter what, it looks thin. You have to be careful with thin hair too because it can break easily and it's usually weak.

hey tiffanyd just a thought, you could be breaking off the ends of that back section while you sleep. its very common to have that happen with fine hair. one solution would be to sleep with a satin pillowcase. its an oldfashioned trick but it does work.great channel! love it!

Well, you want a good heat protectent, what i like to use is Tresseme Heat Tamer, or Garnier Heat Tamer they are both really good, and like she said don't straighten it while the heat protectent is still wet, because that is what causes it to split most of the time. Oh, and don't straighten your hair too quickly because it tends to get static build up and that will look like frizz, but far more annoying. So straighten your hair slowly, but smoothly. GHDs are the best but they do die out if you use them a lot. So don't be fooled into thinking they're a life time investment. Only buy them if you can truely afford them. In 3 years I'm on my second already.
