  • Do you live in Florida

  • Thats my FAV!!! out of all the hots! Awsome looking snake!

  • what kind hots do you hope to get eventually? personally i'm a fan of a lot of old world arboreals rather then the gaboons and rattlers and copperheads, what abut yourself?

  • @snakeboi1994 Im not sure if I even plan on actually keeping any hots for sure, but i've always been a huge huge fan of arboreal vipers, especially eyelash vipers, as well as bitis.

  • Lucky ass. BTW my male jungle jage "Jango" is doing great and bit me around a dozen time already. GOD I love the little shit. Thanks so much.

  • @NaturesJewels Im glad to hear that!

  • That's is my favorite snake of all time!!!! I love that snake but too bad its venomous how's the training going

  • stay on yur toes man. dont get cocky or careless. best of luck!

  • @jimbostoski Thanks! I definetly respect the hell out of these animals. All it takes is a few hours researching toxicology as well as some background knowledge on the human body from AP bio to realize exactly what these animals are capable of.

  • just out of curiousity. What good is that glove doing? That gaboon can bite through it? And what are you going to do when the gaboon is to big to hook? I probably would have went with a copperhead or a cotton mouth for a beginning snake. I got to hand it to you though. When you start a HOT project, you dive into one of the most dangerous to handle. Can't wait for a feeding video. Beautiful snake

  • @jeffxl12 It's not my snake, florida requires 1000 hours of experence at a pre-approved institution before owning a venomous snake. The gloves are purely recomended protocol at that institution due to liability. I serviced around 100 copperhead and cotton mouth inclosures in the 2 hours before making this video. I made this video with a gaboon because they are usually very good about sitting on a hook, and I didnt want a testy snake for the video. Again, not my snake.

  • @jeffxl12 the whole rack behind me in the video is actually filled with copperheads and cotton mouths which I spent the day warming up on actually.

  • what would u recommend as a breeding plan for a male going to only 2 females

  • Very very cool I wish I could do that the gaboon is gorgeous

  • Nice little gaboon to start training with. Up next..... 10" Bushmaster lol!! Good luck on the training bud.

  • @JBHReptiles Actually my first ever work with venomous was a wild ferdelance :P

  • @HiImSteveDuh Nice!

  • how many hours do you have?

  • @reptileman24 That's something I'd actually rather keep private. Im not doing this for the hours anyway. I plan on one day doing field work with snakes, most likely including venomous, and I realize I know just enough about handling venomous to get myself killed. So i wanted to get more experience.

  • @HiImSteveDuh ok sounds fun! ;)

  • I think your ready for adult black mambas.

  • Nope

  • That's Awsome dude can't wait til. I Start training

  • Good luck! I don't think i ever could own them but I wouldn't mind trying to work with someone elses.

  • nice man! brave jumping straight to gaboons, i don't think that big glove will do much against 2 inch fangs haha

  • Are you a member of Fauna Classifieds?

  • @951adg06 I am a memeber, however I never post or visit the site really, why?

  • @HiImSteveDuh Just out of curiosity, I have been a member since 08 and have wondered why I have never seen your name anywhere. Do you mind me asking why you never post your animals for sale there? Wouldn't it give you lots more exposure and thus more sells? Or are you simply just not really a fan of what can be a semi dramatic site? Haha

  • @951adg06 I use to post on the classifieds there a lot and just never got a large enough number of hits to justify spending the time to create the adds. I think I sold one snake off fauna. In the end I got hundreds of more hits off youtube and my website. And the drama doesnt help either.

  • @HiImSteveDuh Oh ok. Well you've got great looking snakes, and keep up the good work. Have a Merry Christmas :)

  • Ah, got a little beard growing in. haha

  • @951adg06 Actually I've had a goatee now since last november for no shave november, the rest of the beard was a finishing touch added while backpacking through london in july. Since then I've trimmed it, but like it too much to shave.

  • man i know the rush of the first few times handling hots, just wait until youre handling large pitvipers. who are you training with?

  • @CrotalusKid1 Yea, last week I had a 3 foot timber rattlesnake FLIP OUT on me. Made me really nervous, but you just take a breath, and stay patient, and eventually the snake will tire and quit jumping off the hook.

  • @HiImSteveDuh yeah, if you lose your cool, bad things will happen. Ive had a 4.5+ foot wild mojave rattler freak out on me once, and being an hour plus from medical care it wasnt fun

  • @CrotalusKid1 Honestly thats the most important thing i've learned so far in training. Not how to actually work with the snakes, it really doesnt take all that much practice before you learn how to use the tools at all, but how to react when a situation doesnt go how you planned, and how you always have to keep a cool and level head when youre first reaction is to freak out.

  • are you going to start keeping them as well

  • @teenprepper96 Nope, not planning to. alteast anytime remotely soon within the next few years.

  • @HiImSteveDuh I plan on keeping "hots" after college, I want to go to get my Masters in herpetology

  • Thats cool but scary!

  • first comment haha but whos is that

    a

  • @HiImSteveDuh Haha it looks good
