i'm a '95 boy and have to say: That's one of the coolest thing i've ever seen. Why the hell are there no other clips like this on the tv ? The world gets modern, but not everything that is modern is better ..
Can't stop my foot from tapping, hands playing air drums and goosebumps from bouncing up and down my arms and legs. I'm 69 now and loved this stuff since i was 10. Never get tired of it.
I was 15 whenI first heard this, some 65 years ago. I thought WOW! there is music out there so much more rewarding than the pop stuff I was used to. I became a fan of BG's Trio and Quartet, and subsequently to classical, especially chamber music. It helped open a whole new world for me. It's wonderful to see/hear it again after so long. Thank you!
Great stuff indeed! Thinking of how many hours of hard work must be behind some minutes of flowing music and movie, helps me to understand the intensity of the pictures. It's so much fun watching. Thx a lot 4 sharing!!!
Disney is incapable of anything so joyous now. Take a look at "Fantasia 2000"...there isn't a moment in that movie that makes your pulse quicken like this does.
My favorite part of Fantasia 2000 is Rhapsody in Blue, for the music, animation, and plot (I love how the central characters end up helping each other out without even knowing about each other).
My 83 year-old dad has talked for years about this film, he said he thought it was way more creative than Fantasia. But this is the first I've see of it's reissuing...where on earth did you get it?!? Fantastic stuff! He's gonna flip!
@jbpolhamus i've found it in the web, looking for the italian title (musica maestro), but I guess you can find it by its original name "make mine music" :)
@jbpolhamus My mother took me to see this feature when I was 10. I was already hooked on BG, but this really knocked my lights out, so to speak. THe Disney cartoonists were in top form when they did this, but Benny and the guys steal the show, especially on the last chorus. Takes the phrase, "the joy of playing", to previously unattained heights.
At lot of us had our first introduction to jazz and other fine music through innovative cartoons like this one from Disney -- I also remember hearing all kinds of fabulous music through classic Warner Brothers cartoons like Bugs Bunny, etc.
this is the kind of stuff that really gets you to appreciate music in all its glory in cartoon form! XD I love these sort of clips why aren't there more made nowadays

Creative animation and the finest music in the world. A tribute to free thinking and talent if I've ever seen one. No wonder it irritated the Nazis.

I've always loved Ward Kimball's animation. Disney used him, mostly, for the wildest stuff.

This was back when music was by musicians and a cartoon was a hand drawn work of art. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift!

Aye, Benny was one of the greats. A fantastic musician and he annoyed the Nazis. A good epitaph to have.
