I am a vegetarian but you are like my role model! All my friends call me a health but (I call it being healthyare) but seriously there are so many chemicals and steroids in the average American meal that it's not even funny :/ and coconut milk is my favorite , that and green tea(:
@VeganShout & @ AmyRoseSavage: When you say 99.9% vegan, I assume you mean products where the actual ingredients are vegan but there's a chance of cross-contamination due to nonvegan items being used on the premises?
Oh..another point..To avoid all the questions if a product is vegan, stay away from most or all processed food items. You can be vegan any place they sell veggies! Make your own sauces and leave the boxed and manufactured stuff behind! There is a point you just look at the products that look like chicken and beef and say that it is silly, expensive and another nod to the food industry. Fresh, local and real...Check Forks over Knives website for lots of recipes to stay away from manufactured
@Barb6106 Very good point about processed food. Fresh fruit and veg is healthier. It also gives you a great feeling knowing that you cooked/prepared it yourself!
@Barb6106 I watched the Forks over Knives movie last night. I am seriously considering eliminating meat and processed foods from our diet. My teen daughter has been wanting to for awhile. However, the list of veggies we are familiar with is far shorter than the list we don't really like. I checked the forksoverknives website and only found about 10 recipes. Are there more somewhere on there that I missed? I clicked recipes.
@alwaysaprilmac good for you!! (and I mean it! It will be good for you in MANY ways!!!) Just google "vegan Recipes" ..Try the "engine2diet" web site..this is Amazing!! Rip Esselstyn was a firefighter who changed the lives of his fellow firefighters and then wrote the book on it and it is wonderful. movie and they are so . Also google Jeff Novick who has a website on cheap vegan recipes Also, thehappyherbivore....
I am vegan for almost a year now and I still get excited going shopping for my food!! Silly, I know, but "regular" food just did not do it for me anymore!! Now I actually get a rush going home to make my food for the evening..and hoping I will have leftovers!! I really enjoyed this video..I took some notes as there were some items I forget about...Thank you!!! Eating vegan is not hard...it is a pleasure knowing you are doing good for yourself and the animals. Thank you ..will watch all
I wish I can get all that good vegan stuff but I am living in a small city in Germany and the only chance to get more vegan stuff is to order from the internet ... I really hope time will change the variety of vegan food in the supermarkets.
@bikegirl i totally agree with you. I'm from Germany too... and I would totally try going completely vegan, but it just seems to hard... because of the reasons you already mentioned...

There's also hemp milk now, and they didn't have that around when I became a veggie. It doesn't have THC in it so it won't make you high and it's not marijuana. We had some at a veg festival recently. They explained a lot about their products. We try to buy more from the bulk area, fresh fruits and veggies. Most packaged stuff has too much sugar, salt, or oil in it.
Love the video. I'm new to the vegan lifestyle and haven't converted 100% yet. Thanks for the video tips. Its nice to have someone to help me figure it all out and you were enjoyable to watch. There are others who I have watched and it was actually painful to listen to them. You really have it together and know ur stuff. Thanks again and keep the videos coming :0)
Morning Star contains eggs, as does some Boca products... and they're loaded in salt and in my opinion, aren't that ethical. And they don't taste good. It's easy to make veggie burgers or meat alternatives - healthy and yummy. I understand for people transitioning to a vegan diet and who have little time, they may try these products. I think we should try to live more sustainable and DIY. Also: Silk isn't fermented soy, I believe. Try almond milk with vanilla flavouring (contains antioxidents).
@marcluc1988 Of course. I'm sure healthyvegan has recipes and there are probably some on YT or in Google - but here is an easy bean burger:
3 c. black beans
1 chopped bell pepper
1 1/2 c. cherry tomatoes
6 baby bella mushrooms
1 chopped red onion
2 c. cooked brown rice (optional)
3/4 c. cornmeal
Mash beans, add ingredients (consistency should be thick but soft - add a little olive oil if necessary). Form into thin patties, fry on lightly oiled stainless steel pan. Add seasoning to taste.
The gmos are the make farming more easy. They alter the genetics to make some crops survive rough conditions, some gmos can be used to save malnutritioned kids. It's the fast and junk food that's the problem, just eat healthy, don't stress, and exercise.
@VeganShout I kinda wanna point out what PETA says : Boycotting products that are 99.9 percent vegan sends manufacturers the message that there is no market for that particular food, which ends up hurting more animals. So if you boycott companies that HAVE vegan food just because they make nonvegan food They might think that nobody wants vegan food. And we as vegans will be faced with a decrease in our selection. Some people don't have time or money to make certain things themselves, right?
wheres the hemp milk :(

Thankfully Whole Foods and Raley's here in California carry these products and for much less money that small natural food stores charge.

@thestreetsempty Can you make vegan burgers at home fairly easily? If so, could you post a link to a recipe? Thanks.

Viewers should be aware that Quorn's products contain eggs. Buying these products is to support probably the cruelest food industry of all.
Besides, nice and encouraging videos. Good work.

@VeganShout not to mention Amy's Macaroni and Soy Cheese contains casein. What she needs is the dairy free version.
