My heart just broke into so many pieces. Paul McCartney, John Lennon, you are two of the greatest bastards, GIVE ME BACK MY HEART AND MY SOUL, you and your fucking little angsty bromance, that doesn't even have a happy ending, stole both of them.
@lushie SNL did happen! George Harrison did came by SNL studio (Ed Sullivan Theater) & this was in 1979. Similarity yes, but in reality we just don't know what really happened!!!
I love this part; paul once said that some times, John would take off his glasses and look at him and say "hey it's only me!" That was the real John. I seriously believe that if there was anyone in the world who could seriously get through to the REAL lennon, it was Paul McCartney.
Is this history really happen? I don't know because in Wikipedia it does not talk about this surprise visit by Paul. It says that John was again angry agains Paul McCartney. So I just want to know if this movie is a true story. Tank You. Sorry for my English
@alexboisvert13 Here's what's true, because Paul and John have both talked about it: on this day, Paul did indeed visit John (though it may not have been a surprise visit), and they were watching the SNL episode, and they did almost decide to go down and play for fun, but opted not to in the end. That much is true. The rest of the movie is purely speculation about what else might have happened that day.
A few months later, George Harrison was a musical guest on SNL and in the opening sketch, demanded the full $3,000 from Michaels. When told he'd only be getting $750, he told Michaels that he was being "chintzy". Michaels then offered George an extra $200 to do the opening "Live From New York....." line. Which George did! It was all part of an inside joke between George, Michaels and guest host Paul Simon who were all freinds.
Actually, when Michaels made this offer, it was just before Paul's MSG concert. He knew Paul was in town and was tipped off that Paul would likely be visiting John. So he had extra security at the studio just in case. John said he and Paul were tempted to grab a cab, but they were both too tired to deal with the hassle.
Actually Paul and Linda visted John and May Pang multiple time in both LA and New York during Johns time with May Pang.John and May were going to go Louisiana and visit Paul where he is recording Venus and Mars in 1975 before John went back to Yoko.
True. Pang said that Derek Taylor gave her a postcard he received from John in late 1974 saying "We'll be in New Orleans early next year with the Macs."
How much better do you think the Venus and mars album would have been if John played on it.Apparently, they discussed having a reunion in 1974 when they hung out together.Ringo was there when they did.I met May Pang at a book signing last year and she said John wanted to remake Help. She also said that he asked her if it would be a good idea to work with Paul again.Of course she said yes.
*Sniff*... I cry when I watch the rooftop bit. It's so poignant, and I actually think quite close to the times Paul and John sometimes shared in their earlier days. In the Anthology BOOK, Paul says about how the 2 of them used to just sit and cry together about stuff. That's what real, close mates can only do. So whatever fall-outs they'd had, I think they were definate kindrid spirits.
touching, im so glad this was created and uploaded.thx, buhu

This scene so reminds me of when John took off his glasses and looked at Paul and said, "It's just me, Paul. It's still just me."

I just watched this again. As a beatle head I must admit, not that bad.

"and i see a man who doesnt realize how beautiful he really is" made me tear up a bit. That conversation sums lennon's faults well.

Oh man... that always makes me cry... but it's such a beautiful thing that 'Paul' says.
