I remember first seeing this boss and thinking there was a CD set of stages, too.

Sadly, no.

Really they should have tried to get another "era" for Classic Sonic. Maybe CD, Triple Trouble and...something else I'm sure. Comedy option: Xtreme?

Either make the boss Metal Sonic, or keep him as a rival and use Nack as the boss? Probably have Classic Knuckles as a rival?

@snowyarticuno Funny you should mention CD stages. Nitsuma, one of the staff at Sega, really wanted Wacky Workbench as a stage, but they missed their chance. He only realized this after Sonic CD was released on the Arcade for Xbox.

Triple Trouble wasn't really iconic in the eyes of Sega apparently. It's there with Tails' Adventure, Labyrinth, Sky Patrol, Drift, and Bean Machine in that they're not referenced in this game (the Sonic Championship was).

18 years. 18 years later and classic Metal Sonic just starts to visibly overheat (I know he slowed down a bit after charging in the Sonic CD race, but still). Must be some strong power source Eggman's implemented in his circuit lol. I'm assuming you're going to use the USA version of Stardust Speedway in the rematch, correct?

Not to start another USA vs. Japan soundtrack war, but do you prefer one track over the other? Personally, I like both, though sometimes the Japanese sounds better.

@Rexaura888 I like both soundtracks. I grew up with the American one though, so I prefer that one. It's definitely an unpopular opinion though. (And yes, the American Stardust Speedway song will play in the Metal Sonic Hard Mode video.)
