Oh, you're right, I meant to say japanese dubs. And to me Haruhi doesn't sound HORRIBLE exactly...just not the best. A lot of times in Japanese dubs, some of the guys have girly sounding voices, and they try to change that in the english dub. Haruhi's japanese voice is girly...and in english its not. I theory is that alot of these preferences come from getting use to one set of voices, then hearing the other. I have found this to be a conflict when watching anime; when i watch the Japanese first, the English dub sounds silly (or gross... depending on how much they butcher the voice acting), and vise versa. For example, after watching Azumanga Daioh in japanese, i saw the english dub and it scared me, but it was the other way around with Haruhi.

But that's just how i view it.

Azumanga Daioh sounds so weird in the english dub, especially Chiyo-Chan. For me english dub is awesome for Ouran, since all the voices sound like they r supposed 2 be. Haruhi for example sounds like a guy in the eng dub (which is right), but for the japanese, she sounds more of a girly type.

Hactually, this is a really low quality clip. Any low quality ones on Youtube have Severe voice distortion, especially this one. For the closest sample, i would suggest heading over to the Funimation-hosted Ouran site, and checking out the two free sample episodes.

It's a lot better as you get used to it, and if you buy the box set, the voices only get better.
