  • It's not only me that come from Hikaru Ijuin.

  • And Ralf just smiles like: oh, silly kids, stop arguing.

  • kraftwerk is the group that epitomised the genre of electronic music, i have followed them 4 twenty years , long may they rule

  • Asterix and Tintin cartoons are by Herge. Is he a Belgian ?

  • for a second, on listening to the wonderful Kraftwerk, i almost, nearly, forgot that Germany tried twice to take over the world - and failied. haha

  • stella beer is made Belgium

  • I drank my first Stella in 1986, because it's what Slayer were holding on the back cover of Reign in Blood. Belgium has far more amazing beer made by monks. Univers Zero !! is Belgian- other than that I don't know too much . I have read that the Belgians were brutal in Africa back in the day.

  • I respect Kraftwerk... I know they're almost the "parents" of electronic music... But it's so... BOOOOORING! D:

  • all the hip hop boys stole from these guys u got to know your music.

  • 1:42. What's he gesturing at?

  • @EthanThePerson probably telling the guy at the mixing board that the level to his in ear monitor was too low, or that a certain part was too low in the mix.

  • rap is a joke excuse for music, but even so, I am impressed that Jayz even knows who kratwerk is.

  • that first sound can be used to make a good hiphop beat lol :)

  • @gregingram197 The best beers in the world. Undoubtedly

    (among other great things)

    Great people too

  • @Nafoute HI...i guess stating they have the best beers is purley subjective. I dont know of any belian beer...and im sure it has a lotta nice people. wot other contribution that is not subjective can you tell me out here in UK?

  • @gregingram1970 If you haven't tasted belgian beers it's good news, it means you still have great things to discover in your life. Apart from that, i don't know what's the point in your anti belgian crusade, and i'm not belgian myself but you should go to brussels or gent or Antwerpen, it would open your mind

  • @Nafoute HI im not anti belgian. i was just wondering what belgium is useful for. i wouldnt go for the reasons you mentioned but thanks for the thought any way.

  • @Nafoute Listen - save the Belgium spin. Some countries, unofrtunatley, are at the bottom of the cultural, intellectual and significant contributions to society listings. Belgium occupies this place just behind Latvia. I am from Scotland. I am not arrogant however, I am aware Scotland per head of capita is the most contributory country to the devleopment of our modern world with greatest innovations - telelvision, telephone, roads, engineering, science, medicine, education...

  • @Nafoute ...introduction of captalism as we know it today. I think however the best contribution is our sense of justice and morality - treating people with respect and of course Im referrring back several hundred years. I think we also incepted the end of the rule of the catholic church and its tight stranglehold on western soceity and let people be free of the oppressive chains of catholic doctrine. it is a wonderful country although we are shite at footlball. Cmon Scotland!

  • @gregingram1970 Yet again a music vid turn into an ill informed rant on european or world politics. Belgium (specifically flanders) has some of the best preserved medieval towns in europe. The Beer , the food , the chocolate and the beer and (most of ) the people are great. Leuven, Gent , Antwerp , Brugge , Kortrijk are all great towns. Audrey Hepburn , Magritte , Stella , Deus , Paul Delvaux. You should visit. And I'm british.

  • @gregingram1970 I dont drink and so would not be impressed by beer. I think Scotland gave the world - lightbulbs, tarred roads, education, medicine, engineering, philosophy (enlightenment period), penicillin, political philosophy, human morality, golf, modernity, the scottish school of common sense - influcing the american declaration of independence, but started the kluklux clan...belgium - eh...cloggs? not that was holland.

  • @Nafoute

"The best beers in the world. "

    Great comics, too.

  • @gregingram1970

    no they dont.

    go to school

  • @gregingram1970 soulwax

  • @gregingram1970 Colonizing of Congo, Belgium started the whole Scramble for Africa thing and ''ignited'' further Imperialism.

  • @gregingram1970 Belgium colonized Congo, and started the whole Scramble for Africa, acutally Belgium kinda ignited European imperialism in Afrika.

  • @gregingram1970 Belgium gave the world Telex! Electronic music pioneers.

  • @gregingram1970

music : Ghinzu, Soulwax, Hooverphonic, and many more. Open your ear !

engineering : the Dubai Tower is made by Belgian engineers, the Millau Viaduct also, ...

film : Dardenne Brothers( recently won 2 Palmes d'Or in Canne Film Festival), Jean-Claude Van Damme ...

sporting incons : Eddy Merckx (won the Tour de France five times), Jacky Ickx (six wins in the 24 hours of Le Mans) and more recently : Philippe Gilbert, Vincent Kompany, ...

    Do you need more?

  • @gregingram1970

well, belgium has one of the best racing track in the world called

"Circuit de Spa Francorchamps" with it's famous part "Eau Rouge"

and this track is favoured by many racing drivers

  • @ChuckVanDamme racing track? what are you talking about? thats embarressing that all you can claim is that belgium is famed for a racing track. check out Scotland, and then you can learn who the world looks to for progress.

  • @gregingram1970

chill. you've said that there's no thing to mention about belgium and i proved you wrong. so deal with it.

  • @ChuckVanDamme im missing your point. forgive my mis-understanding, but do you believe that producing high quality racing drivers equates to 'significant contributions to modernity'?

I hardly thought so. Belgium is simply to most useless nation in the world.

  • @gregingram1970 * Waffles

    * Chocolate

    * Beer

    * "French" Fries

    * Capital of the European Union

    * The Mannekin Pis

    * The Saxophone

    * Brussels Sprouts

    * Mussels

    * Bicycle Sprinters

  • @tomp45 thats hilarious. i mean, the world would be incomplete without brussel sprouts or bicycle sprinters?

haha. your sooooo acuteley hilarious! Greetings belium person.

  • @gregingram1970 I see your people introduced grand spelling, and grammar. :D And no, I am not Belgian. There are tons of countries that have done nothing spectacular.

  • @tomp45 My spelling is just great thanks...

and to answer your question, i dont thnink scotland introduced the english language - that was england. but, we did introduce universities 500 years prior any other country in the world. so i guess that makes us rather special dont you think? scotland has contributed more to the development of the modern world than any other country - many times more than any other in fact and you wouldnt be reading your monitor if it were not for it.

  • @gregingram1970 Oh my god! Learning facilities! No one would have ever thought of that! Scotland has not contributed the most out of any country. That's just absurd. And I never asked you any question. I never said Scotland introduced English, I guess your country hasn't found out what sarcasm is yet.

  • @tomp45 Irony? sarcasm? well of course we do - you just need to read up on robert burns, (auld lang syne, tam o shanter etc etc) and you will read the master of irony and sarcasm.

thanks, and keep trying to score points over me. long live scotland the brave!

  • @gregingram1970 America has done multiple times more then Scotland, and it's much younger. Jealous much eh? You guys can't even do things by your self.

  • @tomp45 well we gave you your poiitical science for one. we gave you the best engineers in the world to build your country. the best names in engineering up to the last 50 years. what you meant to say was - scotland gave you the skills to create your society, taught you what morality is and how to apply it and our products of yester-year and entrenched in your development and now that you can walk you shit on a key hand that fed you. you are an arrogant and forgetful person.

  • @tomp45 america? what would that be then? say could usa top: telephone, televeison, penicillin, pneumatic tyre, tarmac roads, engineering in various areas, medicine, education, universities, modern democracy, original capatism, golf, and im sure another 500 useful things you use every day - dick weed.

  • @gregingram1970 The television was an American invention invented by an American. How about the production line, the light bulb, the radio, the cotton gin, the telegraph machine, the steam boat, the cell phone, air conditioning, the refrigerator, the computer, and many many more. Oh, by the way Penicillin isn't Scottish either. Plus you can't say "Oh we are responsible for education." That's just retarded.

  • @tomp45 @tomp45 it was not. it was john logie baird who invented the television. and we are largely responsible for the shift from the medieveil and mystic period to modernity and is famously referred to as the enlightenment. you should look into that more and you will find edinburgh - scotlands capital city was the hub for 300 years as we produced the best educated minds for hundreds of years.

  • @gregingram1970 Philo Farnsworth invented the television. And name something significant Scotland has done in the past 200 years.

  • @tomp45 the televsion was invented by a scotsman. its common knowledge? how cheeky and insular in your typically american education to claim that too. no wonder you faked getting to the moon before ussr. in 2oo years - well the anti biotic penicillin which is one of the key findings of the history of key findings was dicoverd during the second world war by a scot. that good enough? haha.

  • @tomp45 thomas fleming dicovered penicillin.

  • @gregingram1970 and he was scottish.

  • @tomp45 and of course your country aint really invented much? you buy in all your scientific researchers to innovate and have done for years. so would that really be buying your significant dicoveries? hmmm. the best thing out of usa was the movie - american beauty. yes probably the greatest movie ever made. of course, british director. however, it depicts the failings of the amierican dream beautifully. obsessing over material status is your countries infection thats viral.

  • @gregingram1970 Tomorrowland? Fuck yeah

  • @gregingram1970 they didn't support the nazi's. and there are much culture things from belgian, like jacques brel and tintin. i think there aren't famous cars from belgian, but cars are screwing up the environment, so belgium can be proud. they are nice people and speak a view languages, not like the english and the americans who speak only english.

  • @Nanosaur12 HI you thick cunt. English is the spoken word of the world. Why would it be necessary to learn something like belgian? its a bastardised language that doesnt know if its French or German. Its a language that nobody but belgian people would speak. Belgium is basically the most insignificant country in the world.

as for cars - well this is a popular mode of transport...and your saying belgium dont make cars and its good as they are thinking about the environement? LOL OL

  • @gregingram1970 fucking english is not the only world language. the most spoken language is spanish and the second most spoken is chinese. where i live (holland) speak the most children in the age of 15 about 4 languages, while in england there are adults who speak only one.

  • @Nanosaur12 English is the dominant language in the world. I dont care about any other countries speaking 4 languages. If you ask me, these countries who learn these languages do so because they need to in order to trade because they are low status countries. English is the ONLY language to concern over. why bother with fucking dutch? what a waste of life. I mean we fucking educated the world and you want us to learn your fucking language? wot the fuck are you on you thick cunt?

  • @gregingram1970 stop the conversation, i don't talk with fascists

  • I can't believe these guys stole from Jay-Z.

He had music like this in 1998!!

  • @xlerosx OMG !!! Are you serious ??

I'm not sure Jay-Z was even born when Kraftwerk wrote this tune in 1978

  • @Nafoute HAHA pwnd :)

  • @xlerosx bahahahahahahahahahaha you are a complete imbecile.. XD XD XD XD XD XD!!! Congratulations you graduate from Loserville College USA!

OMG my stomach hurts so bad from laughter.. you'd better be joking.. seriously.

  • @xlerosx ha ha, brilliant

  • @xlerosx This nigga be trollin.

  • @xlerosx they've been around since 1978- i can't believe Jay-Z stole it from them!!!

  • @xlerosx hahaha. owned!

  • @xlerosx what A comment.been listening Kraftwerk, from 1979,when friend of mine in next door had this German Album, and we had then, GRAND MASTER Mel-Mel//Flash+FURIOUS 5. And, All other pioneers, in rap+hiphop, when they did everything by scratching vinyls and that sounded just very impressive!it made us move, like this ''robot-walking'''

todays rap artists are multitalented aswell, but, listen pioneers first,Kraftwerk, way ahead of others,in their electro, computer sounds....thanks,for this one!

  • @xlerosx pd and to a lesser extent jayz are built on sampling other people's work, to accuse someone of stealing from them is laughable. especially in this case since kraftwerk practically started this genre almost 35 years ago and are legendary

  • @xlerosx ahhahahahahahahahha

  • @xlerosx Do some research before you post.

  • @RGMS58 Research?! You can Hear it!

  • @xlerosx They sampled from Kraftwerk, NOT the other way around. Look it up.

  • this is so awesome! i wish i could have been there!

  • they must be proud for that music.i listen to one kraftwerk track and i just listen to a culture.

the breakdance cuture of my young days.

  • If they made a mistake, it means it's not all playback.

They DO something on the stage other than being there...

  • The vocoder always makes me shiver....

Ja tvoi sluga! Ja tvoi robotnik!

  • man iy love those guys and now they even play in gent thats in my country

  • i think that it proves that they are real Musicians as they carry on dispite making a mistake with the Vocoder track, well done KRAFTWERK AAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++++++++++

  • It's not that they sequenced it wrong, there's still a delay effect on the track totally wet in the beginning. Doesn't prove a thing. But I think they're real musicians and I love them.

  • i saw them when radiohead came to mexico... I LOVED THEIR SHOW! KRAFTWERK ROCKED! when they played that song i was OMG!, since that concert i hear them all days

  • It's good to see that big musicians also make mistakes.

  • What are they talking about?

  • Don't you just love it when things don't go the way they should? They all look very embarrassed from the word go when the backing vocal track doesn't work the way it should. But still a great track by a great band.

  • Respekt.

  • ummm... Okay, I've been a HUGE kraftwerk fan forever, so I think i can say this without getting a thumbs down thing.... these guys, hands down, are the oldest techno artists..... I've never heard of old men actually playing LOUD music.... and i mean LOUD! its crazy.... I also agree with Werkaholic

  • this grandpas just rock !!!!!!!!!

  • electronic music pwned^^

  • 25 years after me and my mate Howard saw them at the Locarno in Bristol we were there at Gent! Stood where the footage was shot! Thanks always will have the video to reflect on maybe 25 years from now. Sad to see Florian Schenider has quit after 40 years!

  • Me too. I remember when Autobahn came out when I was pre-high school. It took me 30 or so years to see them 7 it was on this tour. You have to be there. I have seen Bowie, Depeche & many others but this was the best. This was the opening and the whole concert was amazing. Someone mentioned they were older by their age was meaningless when you are there. It is just incredible. I am so glad i got to see them before Florian left. I think this may have been their best tour. Just incredible.

  • That's the beauty of it though... that they just have to stand there, they don't need to dance like idiots... the energy is in the music.

  • Great Performance!

  • Genius!

  • Ralph is a cool dude

  • I like Ralf at 2:30! It's seems to me like: "I'm so dangerous!" Thank you for video! I really like them!

  • 080820:Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag Ralph Hütter! Born Krefeld, August 20:th in 1946. 63 and still You "synth" the pants off any TEhNo-BrAt! At Coachella (080426) Florian Schneider was "replaced" with Stephan Pfaff, who now days is controlling the LIVE VIDEO graphics. What happened 061021? Schneider wondered off into dreams of coasey Kling Klang studio?, missed his Votrax SC-02 que, then kept Votrax TOO loud! (aber Ralph cool ist look 02:32) But Fritz got pissed!!(They no doubt argue)

  • Echt? Shit, ich mußte arbeiten :(( Beneide Dich ehrlich. Geile Band und affengeile Musik!

  • jaaaaaa!!! ... und ich war mit dabei :-))))))

  • Aaaah, it's so much fun to watch than the damn Minimum-Maximum video! Here we see and hear the people, we feel the "live", unlike the console audio and the ?%*"% visuals from the DVD!

  • I'm quietly pleased the two new guys look like a)Joseph Mengler with glasses, and b)Joseph Mengler WITH glasses.

(I'm a mass Kraftwerk fan, and absolutely in love with Germany - but the new bugs are master criminals on holiday).

  • Haha, that was funny!

  • It's nice to see that there are still some human left in them.

It's funny to watch them make mistakes, and I don't mean to be stupid or anything it's just a bit of a relief to see them talk to each other on-stage and make a wrong or two

    But I still love them!

  • I know what u mean man, check out Planet of Visions like at the Carling Academy, Scotland on my channel B00TLEGTV, prime example lol it's about 1/4 of they way in the video.

    Enjoy

  • I love kraftwerk but they make a lot of mistakes in this video, in the very begining they forgot the robot voice saiyng

    - The Mensch -

    But i wish i was there !!!

  • You're right they do make shit loads of mistakes here- i can only presume theyre techinical problems because there ARE 4 of them to produce that one song- they should be able to play man machine in their sleep by now

  • lol.. It is really hard to tell if they are doing any of it manually, let alone separating it out. It looks like they are just standing there watching computer programs play the music for them.

  • They do 'play' a fair bit, but most of it is just making changes to patterns - Ralf and Fritz have keyboards and expression pedals (and Ralf botches keyboard parts quite often), Henning has a switch system for the drum patterns and Florian controls video (or plays Half Life).

  • Incredible!!!The kraftwerk are incredible!!!:)

  • DIE MENSCH MASCHINE!!!! W KRAFTWERK

  • Absolut Genial!

  • O vídeo é perfeito. Gostaria, imensamente de conseguir ouvir o cd todo. Tem alguma sugestão? É que hoje é minha primeira vez. Obrigada!

  • Love the band.Love the footage, love the way 'robots' can screw up on stage!Brixton Academy 2004 shows were stunning!!!

  • absolut cooles video. die stimmung!! genial!

  • are they playing tetris or minesweeper ?

lol no, i was there @ i love techno !!

    they where great !!

  • Comment removed

  • @ChuckVanDamme

ey chuck, I know exactly what you're thinking about (Jay-z) and you're totaly right. But I wouldn't say, that hihos hasn't any ideas, they only use a big spectrum of music to create something new in their own style like Eminem or 50-Cent. All of them has stolen parts of some older and old famous music too and built an interesting new song ;-)

  • is it me, or florian forgot to play the robo vox when the visuals started? henning attentioned him.....

  • Yes he did, but im not sure who is who, but 'MENSCH' came on but no vocals.

  • Very crazy !!!

  • they are no musicians, they are workers!

  • Oh my!It`s Eminem standing next to Florian, that explains why his new record wont be released in a while, his dream has always been to play with Kraftwerk (like all rap artist does)

  • was super, beter groep op I Love Techno

  • Will that was a bit of a screw up, but they kept playing, well done guys. When are they coming to Aussie???? would be nice.

  • Its too bad that RAP has seen fit to start ripping off great techno bands like Kraftwerk and New Order...seems they are running out of other artists to rip off.

  • what is an midi controller?

  • a midi controller is a keyboard that hooks up to a computer that has software for recording a song on and you can select different sounds you can use for a song and when you play the keyboard, that sound comes out.

  • so its pretty much a synthesizer without the synth part because the computer software has all the sounds on it.

  • it's a an acronym for Musical Instrument Digital interface

  • Really great video! They seemed a bit shaken.

  • I love the fact that they had technical problems here. They actually seem visually shaken on stage by the somebody's inability to get the synthetic voice level right.

It serves as a further reminder that this is what electronic music performance is really all about. They're not just standing up there behind a perfect recording of their work and merely pretending to work on stage, there are very real challenges, and they can truly screw up.

  • Their problem is probably that they are really good at it, which makes it seem really very much like a tape running in the background. I didn't even notice that glitch at the time, as I was dreaming about that beat and the fact that I was there and all... and I felt like a was somewhere I could not possibly be or something.

It's funny: "Hey, whatup with the voice dude?" And Ralf is thinking: "Damn them all!" Florian is internally laughing his ass off and so forth...

  • when Ralf looked at the camera shooting this vid at 2:30 he was looking at it like "shut that goddamn thing off!!"
