  • this version is sick! it puts to shame the album version.

  • It's like a precursor to Myxomatosis

  • amnesiac = real music

  • Except that the live versions of the songs are 100 times better than the dull, mostly lifeless album versions ....

  • When Thom's head starts to move like that...that's when you know.

    He's into it.

  • They are sick.

  • Dang! That was awsome. had a really cool "Oceans 11" vibe to it.

  • love the fuzzy bass

  • does anybody knows where I can find the mp3 of this performance or any live performance of this song

    Thanks!

  • nice version!

    is this gig on DVD?

  • Soy un hombre razonable bajar mi caso get off get off get off my case

  • great song! .. love it!

  • I think i have actually never seen or listened to a live version of this song... I do understand why they didn't played it live often...On the album it is briliiant song, but live it doenst work that well... Cool to listen though...

  • I don't know bro. I would love to see this live. I think they nail it.

  • I actually prefer this version to the album version that bass line is sick!!!

  • Awesome. I've got to see them live (just once)

  • gotta love the lyrics!!!!!!!!!

  • pure audio sonic ecstasy right there.

  • what an....interesting choice to play live. it sounds completely different than the album version

  • album version is better though

  • disagree

  • This one got lots of energy, it seems Thom really enjoying of singing

  • Wow, 90% of Radiohead's songs sound better live. I guess that's because they actually want people to pay to come and hear them play live. :-)

  • definitely prefer the album version, but this is an awesome rendition. check out like spinning plates live for an impeccable version of that song

  • got that damn right truckwall. you're refering to the i might be wrong:live recordings version, right?

  • I love Thom's face from 2:12 to 2:15....

  • Absolutely :)

  • Much much better than the studio rendition

  • one of my fav radiohead songs.......great mix

  • La meilleur chanson de Radiohead avec les meilleurs paroles sur terres.

  • capaz qe no sabes verlo, seguro xq no tocas ningun instrumento.

  • get off my case

    get off my case

  • get off your clothes mother fucker

  • Comment removed

  • Where are they in this live?

  • I think Paris, could be wrong.

  • canal studio's, paris

  • both versions are awesome, definitely one of their best songs. album version is electronic this version is guitars and tambourines in your face :D

  • lol in your face xD. I agree with you :P

  • It's like an Ocean's Eleven song. I love it,

  • too fast clanky, too fast!

  • Lovin' Thom's Tambourine work.

  • I wish they would play this song on tour more often. The live rendition is a lot better than the studio version.

  • For my taste both versions are great :D. Studio version is very calm, and live version is more dynamic and stuff :P

  • get off his case.....he's reasonable.

  • so fucking out of control

  • soooo bad ass!!

  • i miss that tshirt of jonny's

  • Holy shit! Ed has like 100 pedals!

  • Wow, interesting live.

  • The opening riff is extremely similiar to the Downward Spiral motif (NIN). I don't know if they were inspired by it or not, though.

  • kinda, if you mean the riff KINDA sounds like closer, and thats a big kinda

  • The bass drum & bass are so wicked on the studio album with this song, It nearly blows your ears out on a good stereo. I love to play it to annoy the neighbors

  • Colin is cool

  • ed's guitar lick is so catchy

  • I'm a reasonable man

    Get off my case

  • I think it's just coincidence. This is very different from the recorded version anyway.

  • .....do u know how long this songs has been around?.....its been out for like at least 5 years so it cant be off Nine Inch Nails anyways cause im sure thats song has only been out for about 3 years.....

  • I dont think its sounds anything like NIN, but i have to correct you. 'The downward spiral' album came out in 1994, 7 years before Radiohead's 'amnesiac'. Sorry.

  • well i have to admit im sorry but i guess i just havent heard a lot of NIN untill now on the radio

  • how stupid can one be?

  • CitizenInsane.. judging by your name you have a good taste in music, so im dumbfounded when i read what you wrote. radiohead, copying another band? ......... NOT true, ever. and uh, if theyre gonnna copy a bands guitar riff it would most certainly not be NIN. i know it sounds similiar but do you think rdhd was sitting around one day saying, oh lets just blatantly rip off this song and make a better song out of it. ill tell you one thing, pack like sardines is > downward spiral.

  • LOL! If anyone could make an animated .gif of thom at 2:14 I will forever be in debt to you

  • yes yes yes!!! someone plx do

  • done - msg me for the link.

  • I'm a reasonable man, get off my case, get off my case.

I like the threatening tone Yorke gets when he sings that line.

  • these are by far the best live songs i've found on youtube, great audio quality. Bravo.

  • does anyone know what kind of guitar Johnny's using? Thanks!

  • It's a '76 Fender Starcaster. I love that guitar and it's sound!!!!. I wish Fender started producing this guitar again. That would be a gift from heaven (although I don't belive in God).

  • this is a great version as is the original. what i would like to see is one with more dynamics. the part "as you realize you're looking in, looking in the wrong place' has always seemed like it is building up to a climax of sorts and i want to hear a version that reflects this

  • i think i like the album version better, but this is still a kickass version... just listen to ed's guitar. sheer awesome.

  • reminds me of the bends album

  • I want Jonny's t-shirt

  • Aboriginal man, get off my cakes, get off my cakes.

  • xD nice

  • LMFAO =]

  • pure art!

  • this version is wonderful

    listen to that bass!

    yum

  • Wow! This is an awesome version of the song. It sounds totally different.

  • id like to see this vid put up to fit the new widescreen. great vid though!

  • please if someone can tell me in what year it is called or the DVD, to download it and take it into my collection :D , Thank you for your cooperation

  • it's almost complitly diffirent, but it's also amazing..

  • ya that's what i say about it. it's prob my fave song on Amnesiac, but this live version is like a whole different version it's kickass

  • this is the canal+ concert isn't it?

strange version, but i like it

  • Toms looks unusually cheerful

  • i don't like this video it makes them seem like pop and there are no where near it nor is this song i like the intense sporadic album version of the song

  • "pop"? I think that's a bit harsh. surely they deserve credit for turning the song into a completely different animal. they could have quite easily recreated the album version into a live performance, but instead decided to make into a fuzzy bassed funk fest. I absolutely love the different twist they put on this. just shows me once again what an amazing band they are.

  • do you not like the other version of Kid A either? if you haven't seen it check it out, live at eurockeennes 03.

  • i wouldnt say it looks like theyre poop

  • whats wrong with pop? good pop is always welcome

  • Amazing version! where was this taped? I need to find this live set in HD...

  • this is the best performance of this song and i like it much more than the album version...brilliant

  • omg.... I can't describe the euphoria of this..... thom yorke is a genius!

  • Thom Yorke is a musical god,I could almost feel the anger in his words in the last half of the song.

  • I like this whole set they did with Kid A and Amnesiac songs. But this song in particular comes off really well, better than the album version

  • eds guitar licks are brilliant. i dont think most people recognise what acomplished guitar player he really is.

  • anyone know how the guitarist makes tha tfunky sound? other than amp effects obviously

  • tremolo, fuzz, and reverb but not too much distortion with no tone or pitch is my best bet

  • thom is "reasonalby" more chipper than usual in this version

  • This clips from the Amnesiac / Kid A concert in Paris are some damn good, I hope someday it goes out in a DVD

  • I'm a reasonable man, get on my face

  • you're kidding, right?

  • AAHAHAHAHAHAH, he must be

  • i was about to call u a tool then i realised u were joking

  • Of course I'm joking! Thom's one-liners rule

  • isn't it case? not face.

  • HAHAHAHHAHA!!!

  • oh my, you're no kidding, he really said that...

  • HAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!

  • i find it strange that pretty much all of their live music is sped up to an almost overdone tempo

  • pretty much everyone plays faster live, energy from the crowd etc gives you a buzz

  • I love this version so fucking much!! I always come here to listen to this before a night out on the town. it just gets me G'd up and puts me in a great mood.

  • fuck yes!!

  • lol, that made me laugh! there's a load of guys being realy technical and talking about voice tones, then you shouting "FUCK YEH!"

    You go dude!

  • i definitely agree with obliviouspet. i can't see anything that isn't perfect from this band, except from pablo honey. all of their albums since the bends are perfect, so are their live performances, their lyrics, their originality, everything. i can't see why we can't say that, at least now, radiohead is the best band in the world.

  • dude, truer words never spoken! It blows my mind that they are so amazingly brilliant. I mean how did these potentially brilliant musicians all live in the same time, went to the same university, and enjoy the same music? It's fucking cosmic!

I used to be in zeppelin and cream etc but I can now safely say that Radiohead is THE greatest band in the world. It's a shame though, even for their immense popularity, I really feel that they are not understood to the level of their brilliance.

  • I love how with each Radiohead album that comes out, your initial thought is.. eh, thats pretty good. Then, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years later you realize how amazing the album truly is. I can go back and listen to any of their albums (after Pablo) and be absolutely enamored with each one for a different reason.

Best band of our generation without a doubt, top two all-time.

  • True, but sadly, we live in a world of judgementalism more than ever. Im not so keen either on the idea of comparing bands. But at the same time i realise nothing (especially live performances) comes even close to their skills and compositions. In fact, theyre SO good live that i stopped listening to their studio albums a year ago, and exclusively enjoy their live albums.

  • I still cant believe how the beatles and the rolling stones are considered above this band. Come on, just listen their stuff and realise there is absolutely nothing that could possibly have more feeling and artistic merit than this.

I for one will take radiohead to the grave.

  • Different genres - different ideas - no reason to even compare the three, let alone say one is better than the other.

  • beatles alll the wayyy!!!!

  • Los beatles no mandan,

    Ojo, los respeto eh

  • i love this version its got a heavier dirty feel to it, just makes this song incredible

  • dude, i totally love when thom completely goes out of beat with his singing at 2:22. It shows that he is part lunatic yet totally genius. I LOVE IT!

  • It really matches the tone of the speaker in the song. He's desperate, telling you to get off his case. Thom's singing reflects this desperation, and is a testament to his artistic brilliance.

  • that s right man.

  • Fantastic performance!

    GRANDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow..

thom seems to be in a good mood during this song

  • This live version is ridiculous.

  • Holy fucking shit.

  • am i just being stupid or is that drum actually tuned to D...

  • umm....anyone else get a Michael Stipe feel from Thom?

  • sounds like the damnded hardest song to pull off live. perhaps thats why i've never heard it at their shows. :(

  • The live version has a really cool bass line. :)

  • by any chance do you know where i can get a tab of this exact song?

  • hey someone know how this people make the guitar sound like that?

    It's great!

  • Pedals...

  • digitech WH-1 whammy pitch shifting up an octave, very fast deep Tremolo from his Tremulator, heavy phase from his Small Stone...maybe some delay or reverb or delay but those are the main things I'm hearing.

  • Roland RE-20 space echo definitely

  • Not RE-20 but RE-201, and its tape echo. and its amazing of course :)

  • If I could see Radiohead at any time it would have been during their amnesiac tour. Holy shit it is brilliant live.

  • Amazing!

This is the best band of all time.

  • get off my case.

  • the album version is amazing, but this is a great way to perform it live. i love the addition of the tambourine.

  • A like a lot the greenwood`s guitar effects

A great version of this song

  • saftochbullar nothing came

  • The album version of this song is a great testament to their experimental ambition, but I feel this version is better. It's a rockier and edgier Radiohead and it gives this song a totally new feel. The amnesiac version is cold and robotic-like; brilliant of course, but this version is warmer and heavier and probably more listenable ultimately.

Radiohead are undeniably one of the most innovative bands in history and personally my favourite of all time.

    These Paris shows are brilliant.

  • This live version suits the lyrics far better than the album version does. The album version sounded almost sterile. Here, he sounds like someone who is barely containing his anger, trying to be as diplomatic and composed as possible while desperately wanting to lash out.

  • Yeah I agree man, would be nice if they recorded a different version of the song in this rockier mould, that would sound absolutely amazing, and yeah Thom could let loose a bit more with the lyrics :)

    Unfortunately that'll never happen :(

  • Well, it's like on You and Whose Army. That song has very defiant lyrics, but Thom delivers them quietly and defeatedly. I think it's pretty interesting. Kid A played live goes from a lullaby to a defiant march. Like Spinning Plates from a dense, creepy ambient song to a piano ballad. It's all part of Radiohead's versatility and I know I always have something to look forward to in the translation from studio to performances.

  • lol! i respect your opionion, but i lol because i literally have the exact same point of view... lol. o well we agree to disagree :)

  • "The amnesiac version is cold and robotic-like; brilliant of course"

    very well put

  • thats just cause you have to be there hearing it live trust me i went to one of their concerts like theres so many layers of sound and ambience/electronics it would blow your mind the recording doesn't do it justice...still a great performance though.

  • Not really a very interesting song at all I find, compared to the album version.

  • Wow - rock'n'roll version ^^ Hail to Rdhd :)

  • such a great song.

i think i prefer the live version to the album version. (though the album version is absolutely fantastic. its a perfect way to start of an album)

  • That is HELL of a performance! Thom Yorke and the rest of Radiohead is just GREAT! or even better... !

  • sad they don't play it anymore

  • good great awesome

    radiohead

  • why dont they play it Any more??? im goin to the vicky park gigs and i really want some more amnesiac stuff...the most underated album ever..

  • Im going there too, I really want them to play You and Whose Army.

  • i want i might be wrong..sheer class

  • they played "i might be wrong" during the first gig of the In Rainbows tour. "You and Whose Army" is something i've been wanting to hear live for a while now.. got "Exit Music for a Film" ;d.. Now hopefully i'll get "Motion Picture Soundtrack" somewhere in the future..

  • They still play it :) I saw in Berlin this summer, fucking awesome, they came out with a little camera attached to Thom's piano, so it could show his eye and jonny behind him, and then they put the signal on the huge screen so everyone could see his enourmous eye :) gr8 gr8 gr8

  • they also did that when they played you and whos army? in seattle

  • thom yorke commented about this song that it describe perfectly a day when you are stuck in traffic. brilliant

  • Unbelievable. I live the album version but I could not imagine that they were capable of playing it like that live. F*#%ing unbelievable!

  • anything that is streaming cannot be "perfect audio" :P

But radiohead are perfect anyway :D

  • well .. or you stream flac or something? :P

    but daaamn what a performance

  • love the lyrics... to me its about how people wait for certain things that never come, they wait for happiness to find them, they wait for the right time to start living or enjoying life, and it never comes by itself. its all in your hands, hence "youre looking in the wrong place'
