i also got a BMW e36 325i, my is tuned with a performance chip, green cotton airfilter and scorpion exhaust. About 230hp, but the green cotton filter sucks to much air so it doesnt go as fast as it should do :(

The 2011 BMW M3 is not BMW's fastest car. YET! It has a 4.0 Liter TWIN-Turbocharged V8 engine, sitting on 414 hp. At first glance, one would say the Mustang comes out faster. But let's factor in weight and aerodynamics. M3 weighs approximately 3700 lbs and is VERY aerodynamic. Mustang weighs 3900 lbs.

The 4.6L, DOHC, 32 valve is the Mustangs performance engine that is found in Mustang Cobras. The 3.8L V6 is a in block cam economy engine that is efficient enough to keep a mans wallet from hurting.

Ill give it to you though, the 2.5L 325 is no M3, but it does have decent performance for being a base BMW. But to put it in prospective the V6 Mustang should be racing a 318. A Mustang GT 4.6L SOHC 16 valve would be in the same class as the 325.

Thats a funny truth, but an unfortunate reality. A 2000, 5 speed, Toyota Camry LE V6 will smoke all stock V6 Mustangs, then again it takes most stock BMW 3 series too. (318, 325, 328, 330).

American cars are about displacement and torque, they dont know how to make a small efficient 4 cyl or 6 cyl, so I bought a Porsche 951 (with simple bolt ons). The only car I lost to was a Corvette C6 Z06 with a cam and headers and a Mustang GT Supercharged (12lbs of boost).

The 951 is a pretty quick car and a blast to drive.

The guy that owns the Camry lightened it a to weigh a mere 3,000lbs. The only mods are a intake system and exhaust work, bringing it to about 205hp (est.). The 0-60mph was 7.0s and the quarter mile was 15.0s. Its not to bad for a grandma car.

He raced my friends 1995 BMW 325IC and beat him from a stop and from 40-110. The BMW was starting to run him down in the higher speeds though.

My friend also says that the automatic V6 Camry had a lower hp rating and slower times because it went with a less agressive cam to shift smooth.

The 3.0 V6 Camry with manual gear box is rare (1000-2000 made) and they have a more agressive cam, which gives it more hp stock and better times.

Thats coming from my friend, he is a Toyota fan..... Cute huh? Haha.

The Camry has a cat delete and a K&N air filter. This BMW 325I in this video has the same minor bolt ons and beats the Mustang by a ok amount.
