  • not alot changed then, just that the tv is in HD now. :D

  • Maybe I'm sure a lot of you would know what was being said in the last verse, because the "trail effect" is not helping me...

  • I was cameraman on this advert. The main guy in it (Bill Carrington) actually got arrested 2 years later for walking around Glasgow with his penis wedged into a bottle of foaming Dandelion and Burdock. Paid by BARR as a publicity stunt, it went horribly wrong, yet BARR would not pay his legal fees and were happy for him to go to jail.

When released from jail, Carrington then went on the road to "tour" his talented penis/fizzy beverage trick whilst having Tunnocks teacake smeared over his anus

  • @RUBBERMOOG Are you being serious?

  • @jemmabond Hi, unfortunately, yes. Bill is sadly no longer with us. I was chatting to his sister only last month. He was actually a talented actor and playwrite but i'm afraid drugs and alcohol played a large part in his demise.

  • @RUBBERMOOG That's so sad - I used to like this ad, it's a pity the guys life ended so soon. Thanks for the info.

  • @RUBBERMOOG Hi, it's me again. You say you were a cameraman on this ad, so help me answer this - how did the New Romantics in the background manage to move so fast while the other actors in front moved slowly?

  • @jemmabond Hi it's a basic overlay, so what you see was a separate piece of film where we got them to jump up and down etc, it was then sped up in the editing suite, (I think the speed had to be 50 times as quick, I cant remember exactly, but to get that blurred, manic effect it was sped up considerably. Modern methods of editing can do this in the click of a finger, but at the time this was quite a technical piece!

  • fit

  • ah the eighties, when it was the fashion to stare straight in to the camera without emotion.

  • i remember this, no one else ever remembers when i try to explain it or sing it, this is the first Tizer advert i ever remember

  • the girl in the video is me debbie aspey

  • i dont remember this tizer advert, but i do remember one with the same song, but it had two security guards or two soldiers singing. The woman in it sure looks nice, but she will be all middle aged now tho

  • I remember that other ad too - and that the 2 security guards were played by comedians Steve Frost and Mark Arden- the 2 blokes in the Carling Black Label ads.

  • Weird - but cool
