There are many things that have been made illegal to protect people that don't have the sense to say no - drugs, moonshine, playing in traffic, etc.

I have no problem with tattoos as I have some myself (not on my face) and I doubt that many lives would be ruined if facial tattooing were illegal.

So those who get stupid things that they regret, deserve to live with the consequences of their decisions. There's always the "young and dumb" excuse, but that's why there's the 18 y/o age limit.
