Indeed. They were replaced before we sold the loco in 2009. A new set costs about £4k!

Was the thing jump-started from the '08 because the '25's own batteries were knackered? A set of batteries for a Class 25 must be bloody expensive. To get something to turn over that big Sulzer diesel doesn't come cut price from the nearest Halfords.

Different control systems plus uprated power plants; they were slightly different to 24s, enough to make a difference to the sounds.
